think about all of the things that happened out of reaches athmosphere, if this is really the last halo game do you really want a remake of halo 3? just imagine pilotting your own space frigate, or even having a squad going out, plotting your own strategy to blow the covenant up as quick as possible, there would be alot more to it than that but use your imagination.

Yes for campagin. Not sure about multiplayer. It could only really work on a space battle map, which I would really like to see.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Not really, being on a ship, and capable of flying smaller fighters would be good enough for me.

The reason I actually say this is because those ships are crewed by hundreds of people to work, would it make sense for ONE PLAYER to control it?

Well you could have like 3 driver seats were one person controls the speed, Other the up and down pitch and the 3rd the left and right movment.
If they want to fly it succesfully they would have to talk to eachother and have a plan. It would be pretty cool acualy.

The idea is a pretty cool idea but me i enjoy the tactical elements of an RTS and space battles are just one giant blob of tactical, and since Reach is an FPS but its supposed to have a different feel maybe adding an RTS element would be welcome

well technically theres only 5 people controlling it, the rest are just maintainance, but i know wat you mean. you could have different stations, one for navigating the ship, one for weapons, and watever else so you could either solo it and switch stations or have a crew of real people, communication would be crutial though, but it would excersize strategy. oh sorry about that BIGNERENT i didnt realize i was pretty much repeating you lol, but ya i second that

Where does it say that just 5 people controls the spaceship? (Frigate or what?)

well you have weapons, communications, navigations, status monitor, and captian. and yea im referring to a frigate. other than that just mechanics and people controlling inside stuff like cryo pods and what not.

"No precise figures are available regarding the crew of a Frigate, but it is likely relatively small, (maybe a few hundred would be stationed in a Frigate)."

You do realize that there is a reason why humans in the novels let the AIs fly the ships right? They aren't just being lazy.

Bungie isn't just going to make it unrealistic just for some cheap thrills. If they are going to do it, they are going to do it right. Which is why it probably won't happen, orienting yourself in three dimensions while avoiding gunfire is a wee bit over the heads of many people.

Hope to someday work at this place! :)

I'd say that flying drop ships would be awesome in ground battles! Imagine UNSC vs covenant multilayer war-style mode, flyable pelicans and phantoms, deployable base structures drivable Elephants/Scarabs. 30+ players, on HUGE maps. Awesome!

if it were to be involved it would probably be around when theyre flying to reach because they encounter alot of other ships before reach, it definately wouldnt be for multiplayer though...not yet at least.

If you mean to participate in the Navy battle against the Covenant invation on Reach, it would be nice!

Not like a huge frigate, if that's what you mean. They wouldn't fit into the single player or even the multiplayer experience, unless you turn Halo into MAG and make it 256-multiplayer. Then it would be cool if you get four pilots, 2v2. While the frigates try and destroy each other, the other players can spawn in the frigate, fly out, and fend off against enemy fighter ships. I think I just like the idea of space battles in general...

  • 08.20.2009 4:45 PM PDT

No the game is way too overpowered the way it is. So nah...

great ideas, instead of just a spaceship battle we could have people in longswords and pelicans boarding eachothers ship, it would attract all kinds of players cause it would be a RTS and FPS. i like where this is going.
