Re-live Marathon:Durandal. Get it today for 800 Microsoft points on the marketplace.

Part of the Halo CE experience was the environments and the visuals that made it such a successful game. One of the memorable moments i remember is exploring that huge cruiser known as the Truth and Reconcilliation.

I feel that in multiplayer, the game has been lacking in Covenant themed maps.

Halo CE had only 1 covenant map, Damnation. While i feel that this map deserves a remake, and that it still has time to be put in the Halo:Reach retail game, i feel that it wont get much attention :(

Halo 2 had only 2 Covenant maps, the infamous Midship and Gemeni.

Now on to Halo 3... lets compare and see what we got... (including the maps in ODST)

Human/UNSC themed:
1) Blackout
2) Foundry
3) Ghost Town
4) High Ground
5) Last Resort
6) Longshore
7) Orbital
8) Rats Nest
9) Standoff
10) The Pit

Forerunner:

1) Avalanche
2) Citadel
3) Construct
4) Cold Storage
5) Epitaph
6) Guardian
7) Isolation
8) Narrows
9) Sandbox
10) Sandtrap
11) Valhalla

Covenant:

1) Assembly
2) Heretic
3) Snowbound

Before we go any further, please dont flame about "Oh Sandtrap is Brute" or "Isolation is Flood" Because Bungie once stated something along the lines (in a bungie update) of "The artists have the unique experience of having 3 different types of architecture to work with"

Theres something wrong here. The map pallete should be a little more balanced out. While i know that Halo Reach will have atleast 1 covenant map or 2, theres still time for atleast 2 more maps to be produced.

Lets make it happen Bungie.

Well think about: Halo and The Ark are Forerunner so alot of Forerunner maps off of that. Earth and MAC Platforms is UNSC so alot from there as well. The only thing Covenant are ships. Besides, the Covenant was never about building a base camp and the loading up and attacking. They were all about attacking right off the bat with as much as they could throw at the enemy. Also, this game is Reach, a UNSC controlled planet so there will be a few Covenant themed maps.

i do see your point, but theres so many options, like rat race, that Halo CE map could be a covenant ship setting if it was re-made. Or even the Grunt homeplanet O_o

I agree that there need to be more Covenant themed maps but Campaign story Canon based maps for Reach wouldn't make sense. Most likely they will have a map or two from a Covie ship and then possibly a Covie map on he ground. Halo 2 had High Charity so that's why there was Gemini. But, nonetheless I agree they should balance it out.

Now that I think about it, they may have a bunch of Covie maps because there won't be much Forerunner style on Reach meaning more Covie and UNSC

The problem with covenant themed maps is, frankly, they all kinda look the same and follow the same format. Most are small slayer or objective maps.

Now what would be cool is a Covenant BTB map.

But even more cool would be one of the following:

>A map based in a partially glassed city on Reach
>A map based on Bahlaho, the methane atmosphere swampy homeworld of grunts (with naturally occuring pillars of FIRE)
>A map based on Sanghelios, the homeworld of the Elites.

Especially with the final two, some new and very interesting architecture could come from making maps in these places.

imagine a big team battle map in that one ship from the cut scene thats after you complete floodgate. That ship is massive! ive always had a liking for big-close quarters maps. if you've seen the recent update on Citadel, i was so mad when they said that it was originally a big map and then turned down a lot... an elevator for each team, omg that would be awsome...

but yeah, a big team battle, like, in Truth and Reconcilliation, that Hangar bay would be a more primordial example of a BTB covie map, with rooms around the side of course...

If they make one or two Big Team/Squad Battle sized Covenant maps then I will be so happy even if they only make a handful of Covie maps and then a bunch of UNSC maps

i think it would be amazing if they had a big hangar room with not that much cover, but able to have ghosts and wraiths and a banshee. then have hallways on the outside, leading to higher balconies that are connected to the main room. Im talkin like, a huge room too >=}

OMG! a covenant foundry would be amazing...

but no... imagine Rats nest, the center, infantry based rectangle area would be a much bigger room, and it would be very open hangar, for big vehicles. then a U shaped pathway with small corridors would circle the hangar, except one side since thats where the air stuff flies out ^-^

Wait what?

you saying the the covenant fails?

or that having no covenant in the game = fail?

He was saying that Covenant fail in general. But if anything, the UNSC failed hard for years upon years up until 2552 where they started winning some battles. Minus the few battles scattered around earlier in time that didn't make much difference

No offense, but so much purple gets tiring at some point. Yes, I would love more Covenant maps, but seriously, change the color palette up.

yeah... i just wanna see a equal distribution among hte maps, instead of playing on forerunner stuff all the time...
