If they are than we know that Bungies laziness has gotten the better of them.

If Halo"Reach take place at the Fall of Reach. Then Burtes won't be in it, because they were'nt in the Novel. (Atleast i'm pretty sure. I don't remeber)

Brutes Were Discovered in halo2 As a A new Guard for the Prophet replacing elites And Elites Quit The Covenant Council because of that Humans and elites United because of Sgt.Johnson and Arbiter united to eliminate Brute Chief. In Halo3 Arbiter Wanted to get revenge on the prophet Because In Halo2 Arbiter Was a follower to the Prophet and was betrayed and almost killed by the brute Chief under the Prophets Command

Well if you read the books and game panfelets they say that more and more brutes have been used in the war over time. So maby there will be some, BUT if i remeber correctly it is the not yet Arbitors fleet that burns Reach to the ground so since its not a brute fleet there most likly wont be any bruts but there might be the Arbitor when he is still a Ship Capitan

Well, if I remember the book correctly, there were no brutes on Reach. I don't think Bungie had even dreamed them up yet.

Either way, I can't wait to play throught that story line from John's perspective.

Ok, people! in the Halo Timeline Humans met a grunt first, then a jackal(s), then the only first propper meeting was with brutes.

brutes have been in the covenant behind the elites for ages and the prophits kicked elites out, replaced there rank with brutes, elites find truth about prophets lying and team with Humans.

That's part of it, coz i don't feel like wasting an hour writing every detail.

Probably not, since Halo: Reach takes place before Halo 1

"Everything works itself out. The only thing that matters is whether you want it to or not."

Last Refuge - Operation Phoenix is in effect. From the ashes, we will rise.

I suppose that they'd have Brutes as enemies, but not as often as the Elites. I think that Elites are much more challenging, and that Brutes aren't much of a replacement compared to true Elites. The Elites should also be much more tactical and adaptive than other games, if you keep mindlessly spamming grenades, they'll either move or anticipate your next throw, and if you stay in one place for too long, they'll attack you from several sides at once instead of just cowering in fear behind cover.

Anyways, back to the main point. I expect to see the Brutes as enemies within Halo: Reach, although probably as scouting parties and the like.

There is no reason not to have both brutes and elites in Reach.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

Possibly.

Brutes were the ones that made first contact with Humans.

First Human-Covenant Contact was a Grunt, The deacon, forget hes name, and the Engineer killed the first human, on ships holding cargo there was reports of it and people on harvest just thaught it was Innies, sent some people in and then they seen the jackals etc, etc
then later brutes came onto the planet. then you know the rest.

A more thorough analysis of first contact... Contrary to my statement of first contact... my referring to the Brutes was only insinuating the more 'official' of the two.

I am The Sapphire Knight

I wouldn't mind having Brutes (as long as they are Halo 3 Brutes) in Reach. The book did not cover every aspect of the battle. Maybe the character(s) you play as fought in a different part of the battle and ran into a Brute pack or two along the way.

The Elites should still be the main focus but a few encounters with Brute packs would be interesting. I would think that if they were included they would be less common than Elites but more common then Hunters.

Hopefully not, I want good old Elites.
It would just be a bad idea to include them in the game.
