Assuming Halo: Reach takes multiplayer in a radically new direction, one that hopefully has giant battlefields, I think we need new vehicles to suit that. Here are my ideas.
Light Vehicles
The Ram
Description: Take the model of the Mongoose, add curved metal barriers on the front, and add a nitrous tank.
Effects: The Ram is a Mongoose that is designed for splattering your opponents and getting through a hectic crossfire. The barriers block plasma grenades and small arms fire. The nitrous allows for a burst of speed to really flatten your opponents
The Visitant
Description: A double seater Ghost with removed plasma cannons and a Jackal shield-like barrier that has the same function as The Ram's metal barriers.
Effects: The Visitant has the same purpose and function of The Ram, to run over your enemy. Another seat is added to give the Visitant some sort of alternative for a weapon, this time in the place of an armed passenger.
Medium Vehicles
The Boar
Description: The famous Rocket Warthog from the Halo: CE PC/Mac trailer.
Effects: Instead of a chaingun, you now fire rockets at a steady pace. The rockets are slower than the Gauss round, but they are just as deadly.
The Revenant
Description: Remember the Spectre from Halo 2? Its back, but it has an accelerated Fuelrod gun as its turret.
Effects: To match The Boar, a Fuelrod cannon that fires rounds at an accelerated pace is now affixed to the top.
Support Vehicles
The Giraffe and The Vision
"Fortress" Vehicles
The Mammoth
Description: The Elephant is bigger, badder, heavier, and....slower.
Effects: While the Elephant is slower, its added size allows it to act as a truer base than the Elephant was. It has spawn points, weapon racks, and two Warthogs.
The Phantasm
Description:Remember the Shadow from Halo 2? Guess what? Its back and built like the Mammoth.
Effects. Like The Mammoth, it has spawn points, weapons, and Specters in it. But it does have a nice Covenant purple color theme.
Air Support
The Queen Bee
Description: Imagine a bigger version of the Longsword and add four HEV pods on its wings.
Effects: I am still debating how this vehicle would be used, but I am leaning on a dynamic spawn use. Sometimes you would spawn inside a HEV pod, aim where you want to drop, and launch yourself.
The Hades
Description: A larger, more triangular Phantom that has four Covenant Orbital Insertion Pods.
Effects: It has the same function as The Queen Bee.
Conclusion
While I doubt these would get in Halo: Reach, I just wanted to share these with you. What do you think?
