it would hbe hard to put such a high scale of grunts but it would actually be amazing!

also a cross between the Halo 1 and Halo 3 elite would be amazing! i played all three halo's as most have and after playing halo3 online for so long i went back to play halo1 and 2 on legandary (thinking ''hey ive completed them loads of times in the past on this difficulity and i played H3 on the same difficulty'') so i went and played the campaign and actaully got rinsed out of it the first level! halo elites are soooo hard to kill and are really smart, like they wait for their shileds to get back and all that! very clever!

brutes could be in halo reach, but there was no mention of them in the book so we can only guess. i personally dont mind them. i thought them easy to kill and i loved when they'd go beserk and you'd quick scope them as they run towards you and they drop like flies!!

I'm sorta glad that the brutes aren't canon (and probably won't be in reach) their AI bothers me:
1st they walk slowly around and shoot repeatedly, but fling themselves violently out of a grenades way.
2nd, when you knock off his armor the brute sheathes his weapon and tries to beat you down.
cmon! all the brute weapons have gigantic knives attached to them, but when the brutes go berzerk they never use them.
as far as elites go, I have faith that will go all out and make them the scary, cunning, elite warriors they really are.
on a minor note, the jackals could be made a little more bloodthirsty, make them heartless and cruel. and bungie ought to give drones a queen, like big drone that tells the others what to do.
Anyway, I know Bungie has big plans for reach and it is gonna be awesome.

That would be why brute AI should be improved slightly. They''re not smart, but not dumb either - they WILL berserk, realistically speaking (gorillas), but WON'T deliberately put themselves in harm's way. Tell me something quickly:

Hypothetically speaking, you are a giant gorilla slightly dumber than your average human, and from what we've seen a love of violence and torture (go look at how they treat the marines on Crow's nest). Would you rather hit something with a blade, or have the joy of using your immense physical strength to rip its arms off and punch a hole through its gut? hypothetically speaking, of course. If I were an overly violent sadistic space monkey, which I'm not, I would choose the latter.

the H1 elites were MUCH better, I agree completely. No hunchbacks, AI that acted as if it was smart.

Game won't follow book. Brutes can be in. And if not, these ideas could be cycled onto a 343 industries game.

Honestly, they need to be more of a dangerous appearence, when I see a hunter in Halo 3, Halo CE or Halo 3 ODST I say: "wow, god give me 2 new toys to play, thank god!!!!!!".
The only that are dangerous are the Halo 2 hunters, but they still need some knew dangerous appearence.

I agree. You make a lot of strong points, but you want them to completely redo the enemies. I don't think Bungie'd do that. I do like the abusing of the grunts though lol. Just once I wanna see one get back-handed...

It's more about making the enemies look better than anything else. I mean, come on. Brutes aren't scary. Hunters aren't scary. Elites are funny because of their hunch (that has to go).

Grunt abuse could be cool though, yeah. Seeing a brute push one out of his way or an elite kick one...

I agree. I honestly thought that the Elites in Halo 3 looked retarded. They didn't look honorable like they did in Halo 2, and they didn't look intimidating like they did in Halo 1.
I think that if they looked like this in reach, it would be awesome. This picture combines the scariness from Halo 1, the pride from Halo 2, and badass graphics.

The problem with that is in combat they are keeping their heads down. Hints the hunch.

I really like the style halo wars used in their cut-scenes for the elites, they were much better proportioned and much more realistic. With the advancing technology and this supposed AAA engine i would really like to see the graphics and style look like that of the halo wars cut-scenes.

I'm overwhelmed by the support here.

Anyone have any ideas on how to improve/what could be added?

EDIT: Linkgamer, they already do push them out of the way. it just doesn't look like it since the grunts kinda slide across the ground and don't react. Throwing them and having the grunts react could make for a better looking game.

As far as the ones you mentioned being more primitive, back in Reach about brutes, you might be right, but jackals were quickly brought to order by the elites.

These are all great ideas, I think that, like in Halo CE, the covenant shouldn't speak English except for maybe the Grunts for humor, but it humanizes the Elites and Brutes too much when they speak like people.
