I am very new at MP; and I find that I get killed by Ghosts and Warthogs a LOT. Seems I can't dodge fast enough. I have heard about the "grenade between you and the warthog" ploy, and will try to use it. But I am curious: If you are in an open area and have no grenades can a player of reasonable skill avoid being run over by a good player in a Warthog? How about by a Ghost?

What are your favorite counters to vehicle attacks?

Side step and jump.

You have to confuse an oncoming hog. Walk one way and then at the last minute sidestep and jump in the opposite direction of their angle of approach, as suggested above. Also, a well-placed plasma grenade on any advancing vehicle will almost always kill whoever's driving. This is almost a necessity for Banshees when they're skimming the ground, trying to run you over. A good player in a puma will almost always avoid the last-ditch-effort frag grenade between you and him.

If you're caught out in the open up against a Ghost with normal weapons, you're pretty much screwed against a good player. :P They can hang back and slowly pick you off. That's why a good soldier doesn't hang out in wide open places. ;) If they're close enough, you could try flipping the Ghost with a frag, but my tactics for taking out Ghosts usually involve hiding behind some object to avoid their fire and intermittently popping out where they're not expecting you, usually with a shotgun if it's availible.

Halo PC way: Look for the nearest open vehicle, when you find one jump your way over and get the hell out of there, solider!

Halo cinematics in campaign way (for fun): Call for reinforcements. Have Cortana open a com-link and have the nearest sniper friendly take your target out. If there are none, call in an air-strike from a local team-operated banshee. If there are no banshees, hit the ground and hope you dropped fast enough for it to fly overhead. Crawl your way to cover, a rock or cave, even a hill.

That was kind of boring, wait a minute, why am I tired? *yawns* O MY GOD IT'S 1:32 AM (US EST TIME) AND I JUST RELIZED I HAVE NO LIFE BESIDES HALO! *cries*

With the ghost....try crouching. Many people I have seen play PC have forgotten about pressing SPACEBAR to lift the front and drop the back. If they dont use it, just duck. IF they do, well, just remember them and try to get revenge. Good Luck! {:()

With a Warthog I always do a side jump and as he{she} Zooms past, just as they turn a round, toss a -blam!- closs to you but not closs unless you plan on sending your self hell, insted of warthog. and yes warthogs do fly.
