I am going to say this right now; I do not what a cod like class system for Halo: Reach, I want a bit of a perk like system for halo reach. You still have to pick up weapons, but I think something like this would work perfectly for halo
Suit type
Light (125% movement speed, 75% armor and shields)
Recon ( 110% movement speed, 90% armor and shields)
Medium (100% movement speed, 100% armor and shields)
Large (90% movement speed, 110% armor and shields)
Heavy (75% movement speed, 125% shields)
Specialization
CQC (Close quarters combat) specialty (you can lunge farther with melee weapons and you reload shotguns faster )
Sniper specialty (the sniper has less kickback)
Assault weapon specialty (all of the one handed automatic weapons get a accuracy and reload time boost)
Medium range specialty (all one handed semi auto weapons get a accuracy and reload time boost)
Vehicle specialty (all vehicles turn faster and are harder to flip)
Bonuses
Medic^ (you now carry a med pack allowing you to heal hurt comrades or yourself, does not recharge)
Mighty strength (you do not get a any movement penalties for carrying support weapons
VISR mode^ ( your suit now has VISR mode allowing you to highlight enemies and see through blinding weapons
20/20 vision (you now see farther out of all scopes and all weapons get a tiny accuracy boost)
High explosive (your grenades now have a larger area of effect)
^ they are switched to through the grenades and are used by pressing the right trigger
