I was playing halo 2 the other day and thought of this.
I realize thats a lot a words. Please read it anyways.

Alright this would be a new game type not like team slayer but more like firefight and it has its own menu entry like matchmaking and custom games. Or it could be a game type in firefight Im not sure which.
So let me describe it you spawn in a space ship (the kind depends on the map) and so you have to protect it from continuous streams of covenant boarding ships sort of like the first level of halo 2. You start with your ship in slipspace and being shot, having his FTL drive damaged. You are surrounded by covenant ships.
There are as many players as the Xbox allows (was the limit 16?) and each player spawns in his own room of the ship and they are all connected by these tunnels. There would be several different types of rooms for example three players spawn in the bridge (if you loose the bridge you loose the game), several spawn in the vehicle and weapons depot, and several spawn in the FTL room. Each room has a different function that helps protect the bridge and so each must be defended by your limited crew with the help of auto turrets. Examples of what rooms can provide for the bridge include turrets, mines, AA (is it AA if its destroying space ships?) guns?
Now let me describe the job of the people who spawn in the vehicle and weapons depot. They can either resupply the other Spartans/elites on board by going around and giving them guns, vehicles, equipment, and deployable turrets ( like the heavy MG and plasma guns you can rip off) they can set up. They can have a new weapon, the weapon container, that holds a weapon or two, and they can drop and pick up weapon s with the container. You could beat down with it, but no shooting whit it.
Or, they go around in a warthog and steal kills from their comrades. Everyone else has to defend their station. In every room, theyre will be an object that you have to protect. If the covie destroy it, you loose the room and it becomes a covie base. the Spartan/elite guarding the base have 1 minute long spawn and spawns in the bridge. once the covenant get a base, they will rush a random room every 5 minutes. The more rooms they have the stronger the rush will be.
The game would be divided into rounds. After ten rounds, there are two rounds where the covie dont come. The Flood do. An infested Ship comes out of slipspace and crashes into one of the covenant cruisers. It sends infection forms come on the first round, and they infect every single covenant you worked so hard to kill in the first 10 rounds. On the second Flood level, the same amount of infection forms come, but with them come pure forms. The infection forms in these two round would be programmed to look for bodies and only attack you if they cant find any.
The flood would enter the ship through infected dropships, or they could crash a pelican through the wall and create a vacuum before the ship closes it off. They could also come in chunks of rock that crash through the wall as shown in the Halo 3 level the covenant. These would also create a temporary vacuum. This would suck some of the bodies out, but it could kill you.
The flood could also infect basses, and they would rush you every 10 minutes as well. The flood and covie would also rush each other, so you may stop seeing covie rushes and see a whole lot more flood rushes.
After these two rounds, if you still possess the FTL room, the your ship goes into slipspace and you have five minutes to try to clear the ship and reclaim as many rooms as possible before you are shot again, and the whole thing starts over. However, this time there are more covie ships. Every round, there is a chance that the covenant ship will destroy the flood ship before it crashes into it. In this case, no flood come. I realize that the game might be better without the FTL room and no slipspace every twelve rounds. If there is no FTL room and slipspaceyness, I think it would be more fun if the flood and the covenant come every round. Please give me your opinion about this.
If you loose the vehicle and weapon depots, covenant/flood vehicles and weapons start spawning there, and the rushes become much harder. You may face armies of wraiths and fuel rode bearing grunts. There is a direct tunnel from the bridge to the vehicle depot, so you can easily snipe and laser enemies there, as well as support your defense.

I hope you have constructive responses on this and like my idea. Please feel free to give me any ideas you have. Crashing pelicans r cool.

EDIT: Made it easier to read

Could you please add paragraphs and indentations? It's a bit hard to read.

I want to read it, but the way the layout is makes me not want to.

OK. Sorry I was kind of in a rush after writing all of that.
