...Does anyone really read these?

I have been reading the books lately and i thought the idea of acknowledgment lights and markers would be a good idea. I want Halo: Reach to be a little bit more Tactical.
It would work like this:
SITUATION
PLAYER1: There is a sniper by the trees, don't go across the ridge, Lets sneak around.
PLAYER2: *Presses Left or something on d-pad, Right would be Denied.*
PLAYER2: Set the Nav point on it.
PLAYER1: *Acknowledgment light* *Pokes head above ridge and points at the sniper and presses some button*
Here the Nav marker would appear on the screen so all players can see it. This would work with enemies if they do consistent shooting.. Also vehicles that are still shooting. And weapons and Vehicles to get into.

EDIT: Also, Each person would have a COM hacking and blocking system. The hack would let the player listen to the other teams speak. It would only last for a 20 second and then need to recharge for a while. If a player has a suspicion they can block their voice and only theirs to any possible hackers. It would only last for 30 seconds and need to be recharged.

Yes, i always enjoy Matchmaking more if we are more communicative.

Waffles taste so. . .waffely. . .

I'd love this Idea. If it makes it in I just hope it wouldn't be abused.

Well what i mean is that the NAV marker would slowly fade unless the Vehicle/Person kept shooting.
The nav marker for Enemies would be red, the non-used items (vehicles/weapons) would be blue, and friendly objects (VIP?) Would be green. Possibly the Marker would Work similar to the VISR in ODST. With the Outlines.

*Uses COM hacking*

Enemy player on other team: Mom, is tea ready yet?

Enemy 2: *Plays loud music through headphones*

Enemy 3: *Screams incessantly*

Enemy 4: OMG guys get on mah warthog! QUICK! *Swears profoundly*

I'm not convinced, so to speak.

and how!

I would love to see something like this, if not in every game mode, at least in campaign to talk to your A.I. allies or for Co-Op tactics.

You can always not use it or cancel the hack while your doing it.

Possibly there could be those little tracker things that you place on certain objects that create a Nav Marker. That was in TFOR when they go the asteroid mission...

As long as they make it so that someone can't place a million of them just to aggravate everyone.

In the run up to Halo 3, I thought this would be a good idea, but after thinking about it, it's not.

The commands for this will use up button space for other commands, and, really, you can just achieve the same effect by talking to each other.

e.g:

Person 1: There's a Sniper by the Downed Pelican.
Person 2: Alright, i'm going to try and take him out.

Like I said, I originally thought that this would be a good idea too, but if you think about it, messing with nav points and acknowledgement lights just slows the pace of the gameplay, and, like I said, the same can be accomplished by simply talking.

well good idea if nobody has a mic but i don't think players would use it normally tho

but good idea

Yes, i always enjoy Matchmaking more if we are more communicative.
Then you use communication.

What is so baad about using a mic? Oh yeah, right, the annoying kids who scream into the mic, as if they wanted to prove that their age was below 10, or the immature jerks who just senselessly swear because you took the sniper, you took a kill, or you aren't playing well.

What do we do to those people? Well, we mute them. Problem solved. But wait, with this communication system, couldn't they just spam acknowledgement lights over and over and over again?

That way they are causing a disturbance, one that can't be stopped by just pressing mute. Anyways, we already have an effective system, it is called a microphone. We don't need another communication system.

That hacking idea could be a new equipment?

But aside from that I agree, the D-pad is barely used, and this kind of communication would remove some of the most basic problems in competetive gameplay such as lack of headsets.

The hacking idea could certainly be implemented as some sort of equipment. Like using it enables you to hear what the enemy is saying within a certain radius.

On big maps, it would be cool if you could set waypoints on various objects, but acknowledgement lights? Only good if you don't use a mic.

OMG OMG OMG! What if halo was played through a Spartan helmet with the game screen in the HUD!? You would still use a controller though.
Well anyway, I Just think that Halo should be more Tactical and For people who don't have mics, It would be better
GUY: Okay, You guard the Flag, I will go for theirs.
MIC-LESS GUY:...
GUY: Uhhhh...Did you understand that?
MIC-LESS GUY:....
GUY: Ok. Shake your head yes if you understand.
ANNOUNCER: FLAG STOLEN.
GUY: Son of a Bi-

There should be some form of acknowledgment lights.

Someone made that, actually. No link for you, because I haven't seen it in months.

Yeah, which is why I'm saying instead of "Not Muted" and "Muted" you also have "Lights" where you hear them, but they just see the acknowledgement light. You should also see it above their Service Tag too.

Try to keep up!

i give this a two thumbs up for following the books. true the hacking thing in my opinion is unessasary cause in halo 3 you can hear the enemys conversations anyway(only if your within like five feet of them) blocking it though is another great idea.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Only have it be yes/+/affirmative or no/-/negative.

And this would be in response to voice, so that people in Party Chat can communicate with their teammates.

Nav Points is too much, unless it was an equipment piece.
