Have you alwas wanted like to drive a pelican in halo reach and bungie upgrades multiplayer to like 15 vs 15 or something like that and puts bigger maps and all that stuff bungie should make a pelican and phantoms whith diffrent traits like all these.

Recon Pelican- This Pelican is Black and smaller then the others, and has no deffense system meaning. No turret in the back and the pilot cannot control any turrets. But also it is alot faster then the others and does not show up on normal radars.

* Bombing Pelican- This Pelican has a Missle Pod in the back instead of a turret. Also The Pilot does not have any turret system but instead has bombs drop. They will be similar to rock launcher but with a bigger blast radius and they have a extreme arc. This Pelican cannot hold any passengers. And it moves alot slower then all the other making it the slowest Pelican.

* Normal Pelican- This is the standard Pelican with a turret in the back, co-pilot, and pilot. The Pilot does not control any turrets but the co-pilot does. Holds 6 passengers.


The Stealth Phantom- This will be the match for the Recon Pelican, But it is dark purple. It will have the ability to go invisible for short spurts wich the pilot controls by pressing LB. It will be slower then the Recon Pelican but the invisability will make up for it. It will not be shown on normal radars, only enhanced. The weapon racks will also be equipped with Brute, and normal Plasma Rifles, and plasma Pistols.

* The Bomber Phantom- This will match the Bomber Pelican. The Two Turrets on the side wil be equipped with Fuel Rod like Turrets. Similar to the onces on the AA Wraith. But the Plasma will Travel just as fast as a rocket launcher but as much damage as a Fuel Rod Gun. Making it not OP. The Turrets will fire Plasma bullet every second. The Phantom will also be green, as seen in the campaign level The Covenant. It will also be equipped with Fuel Rod Guns, Beam Rifles and Carbines. It is also the slowest Phantom.

* Normal Phantom- Same as the normal Phantom with all the features including vehicle pick up/ drop off, 3 Turrets and passengers. Just like all the other Phantoms. It will be purple and be equipped with Carbines, normal Plasma Rifles and grenades.


and the normal pelicans and phantom can carry 2 small viechels inside and a big one in the outside

imgine your playing 15 vs 15 and 3 tanks are attaking the enemy base your driving the pelican drop another tank whith 4 spartans and then on the way back to the base you encounter a phantom have a nasty air battel you destroy it with your missels get to the base 4 friens of yours are waitng you attach a warhog to the pelican and then on the way back to the enmy base you encounter 2 phantoms or pelicans coming to your base you dont engage beacuse theres 2 your only one you tell your teamates back at the base to someone get on a a anti aircraf turret. U guys like the idea?huh huh huh?

spport the idea fellows we shall get pelicans and bigger mm expirnces keep the fourm alive tell your friens and stuff
It would be damaged these ways:
Any serious weapons Rocket Launchers, Spartan Lasers, Scorpion tank shots, if there is damage to the engines it will gain or lose altitude and have a harder time turning.
[Usefull to stop a flag carrier from getting away...and realistic!]
Ways to be destroyed.
3 Rocket hits [One to the cockpit or one to the engine to cause failure or serious damage]
2 laser hits [unless in the cockpit]
2 scorpion hits [unless in the cockpit]
1 Wraith shot [becasue we now how hard it is to shoot down aircraft with a wraith]

2 big problems :

1st and foremost : what if bungie doesn't make a 15 vs 15? but instead stays to 8v8 at maximum?
(H3 is barely capable of having a 5v5 lagfree game...)

2nd : pelicans and phantoms would be flying tanks. people would take one, and then be like "gtfo my tanks" and wouldn't use it as a transport.
not even mentioning the fact if a pelican gets shot down, it's a +16 kills for the enemy...

I think instead of having several specialties all of the pelicans and phantoms should be able to do many functions like like phantoms being troop carriers and having cloak like the elite's phantoms on the covenant. They should use these things only when needed.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

But thats not their fault, they have everything setup as they should, but if people have -blam!- conections, of course its gona lag, having more people in a match increses the chances of lag to everyone thanks to one person.

I would like to have one level of Campaign in which we fly a Pelican, but one level only. I'm thinking the mission would be similar to the banshee-flying part as the Arbiter while going after the Heretic Leader in Halo 2, but more Linear. Like you're flying the Pelican to a specific point and there are banshees, phantoms (maybe something else?) trying to kill you.

I also think that the health system should be a combo of that of the character in Halo: CE and when you're driving the Centaur in Gears of War 2. Pretty much, you would have a shield section and a health section. The sheilds would be moderately tough and would take a long time to recharge, similar to the Mk 5 armor in halo: CE. The health would be much more resistant than the sheilds and would only be depleted once the shields were gone. The one and only way for health to go up is in your group would be a mechanic that is able to repair the Pelican at an extremely slow rate.


As I said, I don't want a multiplayer Pelican. Even if Bungie could manage to balance it (that would be tough), it would still be agravating and, once one team gets an advantage with it, it'll dominate. It's like putting a Scorpion in the very center of a Sandbox Canvas with the respawn points at the very edges of the map.

but know one knows what bungie is really gonna do and come on if bungie made a map form halo 2 appear on halo 3 the can at least help us out with the pelican thing and two pelicans can easily be destroyed by banshee and phantoms can be destroyed by almost any thing so whats the problem

Flyable Pelicans. That. Is. Epic. I've always wanted to pilot instead of ride in a Pelican, but I think the controls should pretty much be the same as the Hornet, but a bit harder to fly because of its size.

see your comparing a new halo game to past halo games think out side the box everything is gonna be different so stop thinking its gonna be like any old halo game cause its not its gonna be way better

Its a nice idea, but it could only work just for transportation, like respawning in the pelican, or just calling for some dropping weapons. And you can only call a pelican once in a game, for those critical situations

nah i think they should have like a big map just for getting from one place to another or if you took the missile off so it can be just like the snow hornet

Sure, if the maps were as big as some of those on Halo Custom Edition. But maps the size of Sand Trap of Valhalla are too small for such a big transport. Anyways, I think that the Phantom is cooler, sides opening up, grav lift, etc.

I was just using them as an example. Those maps may seem big, but not big enough for a Pelican, Phantom, Spirit, or whatever. Shadows may work though.

I am part of a gaming group that is based off of the Elites, and Covenant Army. If you are a fan of Elites, message me. We have a group with good talent as well. We have a ranking system that works,(Do not confuse with stupid clan systems). It is used to show dedicated members.

PS: Don't even bother unless you are 13 or older.

The whole thing is a great idea, but it wouldnt mesh with the way most people play.

They would use them for tanks and not let anyone in

EDIT: And if your team had a betrayer, and got 12 or more people in his pelican, then they would drive off the cliff

If you notices, banshees are not super deadly in the campaign because they don't divebomb out of the sky to splatter you and your allies into a wall. In multiplayer however, the leathalness of the banshee increases because of this abillity to fly faster and hit harder than in campaign.

...So why do you think the pelican and phantom would be any different? I don't know about you, but at least I can sometimes jump out of the way of a boosting banshee in time. But the pelican or the phantom? Its a wall of metal, as others have said, a flying tank. It would be completely broken. At least you can take down a banshee using combined AR fire, but the same can't be said for a drop ship.

You don't need to carry half your team across the map with you. Its stupid both from a safety standpoint and from a strategy standpoint. "Don't put all your eggs in one basket." If you attack your enemy all in one place, they know where you all are, and can focus all their attentions on killing you.

You would need way more than 15 vs 15 for a pelican to work, and by then, two things happen:
1) Lag
2) Individuallity is lost.

So no, we won't be able to fly pelicans or phantoms in Reach. I promise.

Dude be quiet, I hate it when people think that they know every thing about the halo game and say stuff so that other people can't have any fun with the halo games. so, you can have a gametype that has pelicans & phantoms or not have them i would love to have them in multiplayer. How could u possibly now if they could do it or not technology is getting more advanded every day so it is possible so you could be wrong and you are wrong, because they could easily put it on a seperate disk for huge maps with pelicans.
