I was just re-watching the Halo 3: ODST ViDoc when I realized that the pelican was a police pelican. Yeah i'm that slow.

Police wouldn't be using Helicopters anymore... not when Innierectionsists can use Freighters and cruise ships...

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

Well I suppose the Pelican is an effective substitution for the modern Police Helicopter.

Why do civilians need warthogs?

Guns are tools. Do you blame your misspelled words on the pen?

yeah or they would use a smaller aircraft like a hornet or something, but a pelican police unit is sorta like a swat truck i guess

Yeah pretty slow bro, go ahead and put the flame suit on for personal protection.

But yeah, police, I hope to fight alongside New Mombasa's glorified donut eaters...gawd I hope they brought coffee!
Yeah or Romeo will be pissed... what else is he going to do as he camps with his sniper?

For the record; it was Mickey and Dutch driving the Pelican, because when it crashes down off of the rooftops Buck yell's into his radio "Mickey!! Dutch!! Status!!!"

  • 08.22.2009 5:50 PM PDT

Why would the police still be there? I mean, there isn't a population to police.

They don't. . .

They use cars as you see in a couple levels in Halo 2.

Have you never seen the civilian warthog sign on Headlong? (I am not talking about an M41 Warthog.)

The game takes place 543 years to the future, that means the modern police helicopters won't be used in that time and that means the New Mombassa Police will use their Pelican variant.

I'm currently reading Contact Harvest, and Johnson and another squad seem to be getting around Tribute using Hornets. Considering Hornets are a lot more maneuverable than Pelicans, I'm surprised these aren't in use. Hornets even have assault capabilities, so you'd think they may be a better option for use in a city.

True, but the Hornets probably got destroyed early on in the battle and the ODSTs are using what they can find.
