Subject: How to solve the pelican problem

This is my opinion on how to solve the pelican problem. I have read through many posts with ideas for pelicans, and in every one, people were complaining on how they would be used for splatters and never for transport.
Well, my advice is to make the pelicans slow, weak, and weaponless.
If they run into ANYTHING, they loose half of there armor. The second time, they will spin out of control and crash. Spartans have a 90% chance of survival (they're Spartans). you cant jump out when your spinning out of control. same with the phantom.
I would also like the addition of the anti-air wraith. It could take a pelican out in 10 hits. Rockets kill in 1 hit, same with lasers. Four sticks bring it down, two if you hit the cockpit. For balance, pelicans can have boosts in any direction.
This makes the pelican a very hard vehicle to use, and only the best pilots can use it safely. I think this is how the pelican should run in multilayer.
In campaign, you could have a powerful MG equipped missile loaded butt kicker. Please post your opinions on this.

Sounds like a bunch of Justin Bieber wannabes in here. I bet you all wear skinny jeans too.

Basically: You want the kick ass futuristic pelican to be as worthless as a current day helicopter?

Precisely. Its the only way it could get in the game.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

There is no "Pelican Problem" the maps are just too small to support them as vehicles, there is really no reason to have them. Bungie gave us Hornets, which are basically mini-pelicans, and I think that's more than good enough.

I would still like a mass troop transport though. And pelicans look fine for that.

Beware the smiley face! =D

Slow down? Support.

I dont with the other two things though. It should have a machine gun in the hold as usual and should be able to pick up vehicles. And while I agree that it should have no ramming power, I do not think it should be weak. If something is slow and low on weaponry, then it will usually make up for it by being strong.

If it takes 10 hits from an anti air wraith to kill it, then how can two minor bumps kill it? What i your landing to drop people off and you slightly bump the ground?

Bassically, I agree that the Pelicans shouldnt have much weaponry, no ramming power and should be slow, but making them weak is making them useless as a transport is supposed to have surviveability.
