So, I was looking through the OXM Article again and apparently, Christian Allen, the dude from Red Storm and had his own Podcast appearance in 2008, was the lead designer on Halo: Reach.

However, he left Bungie about 7 months ago.

As OXM so aptly points, a change in lead designer usually means in a radical change in the overall design of the game.

So what say you? I'm firstly surprised that Christian Allen left. I mean, he seemed so happy during his two podcast appearances. I thought he seemed to fit the Bungie culture perfectly. And, Christian Allen was from Red Storm, people behind Ghost Recon. If Christian Allen was behind Halo: Reach, I can only guess that it was supposed to be a Squad based shooter. Finally, a Halo squad based shooter.

But if he has indeed left... and if he indeed was the lead designer on Halo: Reach, do you think the design of the project has changed?

I really don't think that bungie is going to stray too much from the gameplay that we have seen in previous halo games. I guess some minor or moderate changes may take place, but nothing too out of the ordinary for a halo game.

This.

Which is why I think people advocating for class based MP are only going to be very disappointed when they find out it will be nothing like that.

I need to get that magazine.

I don't know if i'm supposed to be happy or sad because he left.

If he was making a squad based game then yes i'm happy he left.

If he was doing something awesome then i'm sad. I really don't know though.
