Personally, I hope that Reach will incorporate a map maker on par with the likes of Far Cry 2. That game showed the world that a full-blown map maker could be developed for consoles, and it would be absolutely awesome if Halo Reach had this. It's a shame that Far Cry 2 is dead, because some of the maps people make are masterpieces.

Thoughts?

And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

-Thanks to Rocket Turtle for pointing out my typing follies.

i think reach should have 2 things: a map editor and a map creator.
forge is perfect for a mad editor, you can make little changes to make a map play differently. but to make whole new maps, you need a map creator, like far cry 2's, or even something similar to the sims' building mechanics. im sure bungie realise this need and will deliver in full

The xbox controller can't compete with the precision of a mouse and keyboard. You guys know that right?

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Not 100% true, it depends on a situation. For an RTS, or MMO, yes, a keyboard and mouse are necessary, but for any kind of Shooter, the dual stick format has topped the cake.

You do realise that the map creator in Far Cry 2 for xbox 360 worked, right?

I wouldn't say that, since I find it much easier to aim with a mouse, than a thumbstick.

As for the editor, the controller does very good for an editor like FC2's, and in the right hands can make some amazing maps, but a mouse and keyboard are much better.

you do realize that if we get such a thing, then M$ won't be able to force us buy the map packs anymore, right? everybody will play custom and recreate the downloadable maps instead of PAYING TEN BUCKS for them.

so M$ would never allow bungie to do such a thing.

They let Ubisoft do it. Why not Bungie?
