Hi, I am the White Mamba Overlord of our group the ODSM.
We are not a clan, and we don't play the game for competition. Instead we play for fun, and to hang out with friends. If you are interested in joining go to our group homepage and sign up. Membership is open.
We are mostly a Halo 3: ODST group for help with achievements and stuff, but we also will play a lot of Halo 3 matchmaking.

I just would like to share with you guys the weapons that I would like to see in Halo Reach.

I know there is a set date that some of the weapons are created in the Halo universe, but I would like to see more of a variety of weapons in Halo Reach. I'm not only talking about new weapons. I just don't want to see any weapons "gone" in the game. (Unless it would go againsed the Halo Timeline).
I think it would be so much better if they would have all the varieties of weapons:


Assault Rifles:
MA5B: 60 round clip. From Halo CE.
MA5C: 32 round clip. From Halo 3.
MA5K: 45 round clip. From the Halo books.

Magnums:
M6C:12 round clip. From Halo 2.
M6D:12 round clip. From Halo CE.
M6G: 8 round clip. From Halo 3.

Battle Rifle:
BR55: 36 round clip. 12 bursts per clip. From Halo 2 and Halo 3.

Rocket Launchers:
M19: 2 round clip. From Halo CE and Halo 2. (It can lock onto vehicles in H2).
M41: 2 round clip. From Halo 3.

Shotgun:
M90: 12 round clip. From Halo CE and Halo 2.
M90A: 6 round clip. From Halo 3.
(The only difference between the M90 and the M90A is the clip size).

SMG:
M7: 60 round clip. From Halo 2 and Halo 3.

Sniper Rifles:
SRS99C-S2 AM: 4 round clip. From Halo CE and Halo 2.
SRS99D-S2: 4 round clip. From Halo 3.

Spartan Lazer
M6: 100 batery charge. Uses 20 charge per shot. From Halo 3.

I will update with more info on each weapon soon.
I think it would make the game so much better if we had every variety of every weapon in the Halo universe.
What do you guys think?

Update: If I am missing any versions of weapons please post them so I can add them to the list. Oh and I only put weapons that you use in first person. I might add things like the turrents and missle pod later.

I have added links to each of the weapons for more info on them.

hmm i would love to see all of these in reach but it also gives me the feeling that people will just be like whats the point in this ( H3 Rocket lawn chair) when i can have the the rockets from hce nd Halo 2 that lock on?

I think I remember the MA5K... Is it in the books? I can't remember... I'll have to add it though.

I think it would be cool if you could have a variety of options for what gun you choose in the multiplayer. For instance, lets say there is a team slayer game. Your character should choose between 4 or 5 auto guns like the SMG the AR and other guns that they can make. In Team Rifles you can choose between the BR, Carbine and other similiar yet different guns. This would be spice up matchmaking significantly and make other weapons possible go to weapons besides the battle rifle.

There isn't really a point to having different ARs, Pistols, etc. They function close enough to the same that it wouldn't matter. Everyone would choose the Rockets from H2, the Pistol from CE, the Shotgun from CE/H2, the AR from CE, etc. Most of the time, the weapons are clearly better and there isn't enough variation between a AR with 60 rounds and one with 32 rounds. They even look very similar. I think that if they add any new weapons, they should be significantly different as to be used and feel new. (for example, like the Spartan Laser and Missile Pod, etc.)

It would be GREAT if they had different weapon balance presets, AT LEAST. Halo 1 preset, Halo 2 preset, Halo 3 preset, and a Halo Reach preset. All weapons included in REACH would operate like they did in the games they hail from, and if that game didn't have said weapon, the weapon would be balanced similarly to the rest of the weapons in the preset.

Some would be worthless (H2 Needler compared to H3 Needler) but the option would be nice. Re-create Halo 1, 2 and 3 maps with Forge, drop the weapon set from that game in, change the player/vehicle traits to that game in (or switch stuff up), bam. You have Halo 1/2/3 in better graphics. In custom games.

Seeing as the halo reach is set before halo it would look better if the Assault Rifle from Halo: Combat Evolved performs better, not like it is in halo 3 where it sounds like an SMG or something poxy.
Prehaps even bring an M4 style gun seeing as it is set years before the halo 3,2 and 1.

You have a point, but having the option could change up gameplay a lot. With forge you could place whatever weapons on the map that you want. You could have the Halo CE AR with Halo 2's Magnum, or however you would want it.
I think It would make machmaking much more interesting and make every game different. Even games that are on the same map, but have different weapons.

It would be too confusing for new players if there were 3 ARs, 2 Human Snipers, 2 Rocket Launchers etc etc. If there are guns with specific dynamics they need to be completely different guns.

I'd personally like to see the H1 style Shades and Covie tuning fork dropships back. And most importantly for me, night vision on the Sniper.

How would it work in Forge? Would you have the option in the Start menu of choosing weapon setup?
