I truly, honestly, hope that Reach doesn't come out on a physical disk. That would suck. Here are the reasons:

1. Without it, ALL glitches can be patched!

All glitches can easily be patched with an update if Reach is fully DLC.

2. "Disc cannot be read"

Image that you no longer have to worry about your disc not reading.

3. Map failed to load.

If this happens, then you can re download, without having to get another Halo disc.

There are more pro's, I just am to lazy to list them.

They only two cons (I can think of)

1. Map loading speed

The way Halo reads the maps are optimized with a disc and a HDD. This can be rethought out though by Bungie.

2. Modders.

Nevermind at this point.

So what does Bungie.net think?

Please use reason and back up your statements.

Signatures are for squares.

Physical disc> Download.

I want to be able to take my games to friends, and let them borrow it.

I got my Recon for the '08 VDay tournament for second most kills; 2671.

I didn't "earn" it via VidMasters.

This goes for any game.

that's why they upgraded the xbox 360 marketplace so you don't need a disc but it will take your space up when you buy the game with points online

I see what you are saying, but shouldn't they have XBL access?

And you should have a HDD.

That can be taken out.

And moved.

But then if you dont have space on your xbox 360 your screwed

Unless you have the 8 gig, you shouldn't have much of a problem. And they can sell the HDD, that contains the game, in addition to the game as DLC.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME GROUP INVITATIONS

The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

1. They can all be patched now, it would just take a lot of man-power.
2. That would be cool. Just don't scratch it?
3. Bungie could let us do this onto the disk if they could go in through the internet and delete the map on your disk, or you could simply re-download the map for free to your HDD and it would load that one instead of the one on the disk.

1. Yes. Not a big change, though.
2. Okay.

It isn't our shiznit anymore.

I wouldn't say its better (I don't know if you say this specifically, OP). Here are the cons for games dl:

Cons
- Its costly
- extremely long download (as to where you could be playing a game)
- No trade in value because it isn't on a disc.
- Takes up a lot of hard drive space. (if you have a 20g hardrive, the games take up about 5)
- No refunds no matter what.

I don't like the no selling part.

Plasmalab, a great map for Neutral CTF or Slayer. Download it and have fun. Version 1.1 now available.
Do not send me group invites I will NOT accept them.

Halo 3 LE 20 GB > Elite 120 GB

There is no way I'm buying a 120 GB HDD unless it has a special Halo label of some sort just so I can DL games onto my console. I hate the plain silver cover that says HDD.

Plus, if Reach turns out to be a platinum hit while its in the disc stage, it will be on Xbox On Demand in no time.

In due time they will start doing games like that. More for their own selfish reasons than the one you posted, but you will see it happen.

And you'll probably regret it, too.

Enjoy your arcade game, OP.

It's a disc, not a download.

They thought they were funny; however, they didn't know they were talking to a peanut farmer from Georgia who knows the value of a peanut.

and what about the people who dont have xbl to download it? plus its better on a disk cause you can take the game places easier than carrying a hard drive around every where.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

What about people without Xbox live?

Take care of you disk and that stuff wont happen. The loading times are not bad at all. Ive never even met a modder in matchmaking. Why would it matter. I am watching Twilight Zone at the moment. Think if they had a Halo: Reach on DLC it would be like a sad twilight episode.

Ya, they're screwed over and Micro$oft and Bungie won't make as much money.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Your missing two very big weaknesses without your wish, one being that if you limit it to DL only, you limit your customer base severely. Believe it or not, there are many people out there who game and do not do so with xbl. Two, DL content is just as prone to issue as physical media. Whats to prevent the DL game from locking, having hiccups or content erasures? If your HDD is very full, anything running off of it could be slowed down.

It's a great idea on paper, but not so perfect in real life situations.
