Well maybe we can have only custom classes. Like were you can buy ad-ons to your gun, like scopes with laser pointers on or somthin. But also on the field there would be regular guns like you would see on the maps. Then if you dont want your custom class you can choose a standard class whitch would have a Battle rifle and Assualt Rifle. Just my Idea, do you guys like?

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME GROUP INVITATIONS

The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

That would be like Call of Duty. I am against custom classes. If added, the game should be made larger scale so the Sniper isn't over-used. There should be 5 preset classes which spawn with different weapons/grenades/equipment with stats which balance them against the other classes, keeping them unique but equal.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

What a twist!

And I have to say, your idea doesn't seem very imaginative. Just saying.

Halo will NOT have custom classes, anyone who thinks it will is ignorant. One of the main aspects of Halo is the fact that everything isn't balanced. This forces the player to make pushes for the power weapons and maintain control of the map. Otherwise you will end up with a surplus of camping like CoD4. If Halo had classes you would see a decrease in strategy and an increase in camping around the corner with a shotgun, camping a lift with a sword, camping a spawn with a sniper, or camping anywhere with a rocket launcher. Halo is meant for weapons to be placed around the map, so please stop posting this ludicrous Class idea.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Quote from Frank O'Connor:

"The core value in Halo 2 when comparing it to Halo, is that you should pick it up, and you should know what to do and it should feel like Halo. Everytime you added something, we had to play around with that until that feels like a natural part of Halo. Until jumping on a Ghost and knocking the pilot out feels like Halo and feels logical and natural, and we hope we've done that."

That quote was taken from this video: Video

Quote from Max Hoberman:

"A lot of what we tried to make different about Halo 2, a lot of the focus was really not on making the gameplay different. The gameplay in Halo 1 was a lot of fun, we wanted to expand on that gameplay."

Taken from the same video, the link is above.

If you take those 2 quotes, you can see from Halo 1, and Halo 2, that they were applied also to Halo 3. From that we also see it in ODST. Nothing is dramatically changed in the gameplay for Halo 3: ODST.

I believe the same principles will apply to Halo: Reach.

I agree, no classes. The bold statement is ignorance in itself, however. That's not what it's about at all. You probably think that because of the Battle Rifle, which makes it unbalanced.

But, I hope to not see classes. Bungie will know what to do, so I'm not worried at all.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

I don't want any class based systems in Halo, or atleast a Bungie made Halo game.

The Battle Rifle is balanced. The idea is to balance the gameplay so that if someone gets weapon X, I can still have a chance if I get weapon Y or have more skill. CoD does this by making there really be about 3 different weapons 40 times. Halo does this by making each weapon have a real weakness and a strength. IMO, Halo does it better. When OxyMoron says it is unbalanced, he means that the Rocket Launcher has different balance than an SMG, etc. The gameplay is balanced, but unlike CoD, you cannot compare weapons to each other and have them being almost exactly the same with different skins.

Well did you guys read it? I said to keep it more Halo like would to have Wepons that are scatterd around the map like halo 3. You could trade your custom class for a wepon lying on the ground.

This is an incredible step forward to being able to cure Downss sybndonre mn humans bineg.s

Eh. Big eh. Halo's Halo. It's supposed to have the feel of a classic FPS. To take that away would be like removing the core of the game.
