Subject: Halo 2 Keeps Freezong and Won't Let me Play Online

You don't kick a man when they're down, so don't teabag me when I'm dead!

Every time I go to install the update, -blam!- NXE freezes and my xbox stops responding. I have to turn it off.

Once I turn it back on, it prompts me to go to my Account Management for an "important message". Nothing new shows up when I go to account management through the link it provides me.

At the moment I'm staring at my frozen xbox. It's been frozen for 10 minutes now.
Does the game not have an online anymore? Help, this game is supposed to be the best game ever and so far it's been nothing but disappointment.

Take a deep breath and count to ten.

Did you try Dr WE1RD's sticky?

We need more infor for your problem that can be fixed. The files may have been corrupted the very first time you tried to update which means clearing the cache (see sticky). If you have remnants of maps or you tried to load maps from a disk, delete them all.

Keep in mind your 360 must have 'Gold' on it and are you online while looking at the 360 dash?
Did you buy a 1 month subscription?

I'll try the cache, thanks.

But I thought it only needed to be cleared once, and I've done it before.

I tried deleting and retrying the update, but it froze again and did the same thing.

Crap! Do you have a 56k connection? If the connection is even halted for a split second or the connection times-out you will get that problem. I'm just guessing at this point.

Try it one last time. Clear the cache (I know it sucks) and then delete anything Halo 2 at the same time. Then turn off the box and unplug all wires & cords. Plug all back in and restart and try one last time. If it doesn't work again it's something with the account or it's a problem on the MS end.

Also, did you recently change the HDD? If so, you will have to register the HDD that did not come with the machine. I have a link, just in case.
