A thing called "spy sheriff" some how made it past all my security programs and DLed itself in. it has taken control of all my sightings so it's all advertising for this so claimed
"anti spy wear program"
feh!
I did everything I could to delete every reminisce i could find but my sightings stay frelled and 5 minutes later the damn program is back as though i never deleted it, the icon tool bar, everything comes back.
there help and support site just says to do what I already did, I think they made it this way to force people to pay for the full version just to get rid of it. cheep @ss holes.

How can I seek out the source that brings it back and kill it for good!?

TY in advance.

i'd delete it from the regestry using regedit, but i don't know if it safe.....
try a spybot S&D scan. if you run it once, and it can't delete the thing, then you can runn it again when you reboot

if you still can't get rid of it, save your important files on an external hard drive (or jumpdrive) and reinstall windows XP.

don't do that just yet....

I would download an install adaware se personal edition by lavasoft. You can google it and download it. I'd also restart windows in safe mode - hit F8 when your computer boots. You might also try disabling windows restore while you do this - then scan your Hard Drive clean.

Then, reinstall windows.

again, before uninstalling windows, back up all your important files, because you can realy screw stuff up when you do what i tell you.
go to start-->run
type regedit
yay, regestry directory opens!
although i'm not certian where it will be, as i don't have this thing installed, but try looking in
Hkey_local_machine, then open software, look in that list for 'spy sherif,' select it and press delete. i've done stuff like this w/o problems, so as long as you don't mess with too much you should be ok. but seriously, LAST DITCH EFFORT HERE. don't do it unless you think reinstalling windos is the only option
