Yes, it would feel more realistic:  73%
(41 Votes)
No, it would ruin the Halo experience were used to:  27%
(15 Votes)
Total Votes: 56

Heres an example of what I mean. Say you see an Elite, and his shields are down, you shoot at his legs and score hits on both. He falls down, but tries to get up with his injured legs, and falls again. Either you shot him bad enough that he can't walk, or you just slowed him down a bit. Get it people? Vote, then post saying you like the idea, or not.

I'm one with the warrior inside. The evidence can't be denied. The entire world will stare. Into this battlefield tonight. As I stand before you with a warrior's heart now. I can feel the strength that will Ensure my victory this time

I want the game as realistic as possible. For a game with aliens...

  • 08.26.2009 3:33 PM PDT

i voted yes, and im glad you didnt say anything about it in multiplayer, cause that would be retarded

  • 08.26.2009 3:41 PM PDT

Or you could just shoot the shieldless elite in the head and keep things simple :)

Lol, just a thought. If Halo Reach AI is like that, picture shooting an Elite, or Jackal in the groin.

It's not about the technology, it's about how they wish the enemies to respond to the player.

Am I the only one who likes the Gorilla with the cowboy hat?

This sounds like something that would make the elites feel more real. I would love it if something reacted like I just shot it, you know; you hit it in the back, in a spot that wold shatter the spine, and he drops, unable to use his legs. I love it.

2. Unnecessary when Bungie's AI is usually about par with enemy AI in the early 90's.

Bull-blam!-.

Halo 3's enemy AI is honestly some of the best AI in game history. Have you played a shooter recently?

Keep it classy Flood.

I also want the Plasma Cutter, Pulse Rifle, Contact Beam, Force gun, Flamethrower, Line Gun, Ripper, Stasis, and Kinesis. Cookie for the first person to know what I'm talking about.

I'd like there to be a myriad of ways to take something out. So far in Halo (and probably most video games), there are only two options: dead or healthy and dangerous. Either your opponent is lively and inhindered by whatever marks you've made on it, or it's stone dead, and the game is ticking a timer to despawn the body and whatever effects related to its death.

In reality, battlefields are often searched over shortly after the battle itself is finished, because you never know when an enemy is alive. Perhaps faking, perhaps unconscious, perhaps simply so wounded they could not physically get up or attack. I'm not suggesting this be a practice -- scouring to finish off the wounded --, but it might be nice to have the option. Grunts gasping for breath from punctured methane tanks, elites attempting to die standing with broken legs. Things that would happen.

Obviously, it wouldn't be pretty to look at. But I personally am getting bored of the binary approach to combat in video games.

Sounds kinda cool, but dumb at the same time.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA- Oh wait, you're serious.

Please, distinguish the AI in Halo 3 from those in, say, Resistance. Or Wolfenstein (the new one). And no, using equipment is not good AI.

No, but knowing exactly when and where to throw it is. As is the pathfinding/ cover taking. When an AI runs away, they run to a stronger enemy for safety and security... I mean come on.

You probably want a physics engine similar to that of GTA IV. You shoot someone in the leg, they stumble to the ground and try to limp away. If you don't get a headshot or explosive kill, they lie on the ground, writhing in pain then try to run away.
