As you progress throughout your life you realize that the older you get the closer your are to death, the only thing you cannot change.

My idea is a new system for energy shielding, when you spawn or respawn your shields have nothing wrong with them, are full and work perfectly for Mark V, however once your shield goes down and goes back up several times there will be some differences, such as the shields get slightly weaker over time, and eventually do not work at all, also they can charge slower to.

This would not be after once or twice this would be after a long time this would happen, after say 10 times in one life your shields going down to 1/4 of what they usually are, and then they start getting a slower charge, and it would take a lot of stuff to make your shields weaker, and you would probaly have to have at least a 25 kill streak to make your sheilds non existant.

This idea would make Sprees harder to get and make it so that a guy with a shotgun camping somewhere would also be easier to take down over time(seeing as how people can get a small amount of damage in on someone like that)

The weapons that would be easiest to do this would be

Plasma Pistol- Easiest to do this with and is capable of all 3 in 7 fully charged shots at one person within 42 seconds of each shot
Any weapons made of plasma
AR
Magnum
BR(if it's in)
and most weappons that do not use pointy projectiles(like Spiker and Needler) would be able to as well.

I also wish there would be three different bars on your HUD, one for shields, one for health, and the third would be where your armor is damaged the most and it would be color coordinated.

Green- offers lots of protection
Yellow- Offers some protection, however is beggining to get damaged
Red- Offers slight protection and is critically damaged
Invisible- Offers almost no protection at all.

Each body part would have something like that, the body parts would be
Head
Torso
Legs
Arm

To match this new armor, I would also like to make the armor more and more damaged the more critical it's state is.

What do you guys think of this idea?

All depends on how the weapons work and how we move in this game. Would shields and armor be repairable, like health would be if it doesn't regenerate (but the bar is still visible)?

So basically a health system ? We'll (hopefully) already have that. If a health system wasn't added though i don't see why this would. If you played halo 1, you would know that health effectively stopped campers and lengthy killing sprees. I don't see why we would need another precaution.

With as accessible as Halo 3 has been made for everyone and how easy it is to die, it's already enough trouble to go positive by alot. It would certainly be more rewarding getting something like an Invincible Medal, but In my opinion people should be rewarded for being able to stay alive for long periods of time, not punished and brought down for having the skill to do so just because they're harder to kill.

There are easy ways to combat people who camp areas with shotguns: Don't go to that area, or throw grenades. Just impliment a health system, and keep shields the way they are.

What's wrong with the system that we have now? It seems to work pretty well. And it is already unique, seeing as how almost every other FPS now just requires you to hide in cover to get your health back.

Besides, it is already difficult to get sprees, and I have never been a fan of ideas that work against certain strategies. Your example was a camper, but that's what grenades, OS, Camo, etc. are all for. You don't need to rig the system as well....

Thats an interesting point, maybe, perhaps on some maps there is an Engineer and you have to stay at one point for a ceartin amount of time(10-25) seconds and then it would be healed a little bit, however you have to have 5 minuts or a respawn between Engineer times and you can only get one done at a time, and on other maps it's the same thing only with an UNSC equivalent.

There is almost nothing wrong with the system we have now, and isn't hiding or running away what we do to get our shields back up?

I find it pretty easy to get Killing Sprees in Slayer matches, however wouldn't you like getting the satisfaction of getting a Spree when it's difficut to earn, and the only time I really have any difficulty in Slayer anyway is when it's me against three okay player or two good players, or when it's in free for all.

Not at an expanding difficulty. This idea doesn't exactly encourage typical Halo gameplay. The more you get hurt, the more you're going to hide just to keep yourself alive.

I Love Lamp. And Ender's Game. Don't tell Lamp.

i thought of something else that would be cool. if we could jam transmissions and hack into other peoples comm channel so you can here what there talking about. also acknolegment lights would be cool for people talking to eachother in a party. say when your in cover and you think someone hacked u you can bring up a chart of thing to tell yourteamate like going comm silent until you kill the one hacking you. but to jam and hack you would have to be guarded by someone else on your team and get past a firewall or something.once you get past it you can have complete access to your enemies comm. it really complex but it would also make the game more realistic and fun.
