first id like to say i play Halo cause its halo. no need to reinvent the wheel here. I dont like the game play of call of dookie or tears of bore. No need to slow game play down with special actions or abilities
If all Reach ends up being is Halo 3 matchmaking ODSTs firefight and a new campaign Id play for hours daily for years to come. BUT bungie needs to adress the true problem with Halo 3. im talking about lagers and account boosters.
Connection issues are just annoying and have caused many of my friends to give up on the game. It only takes one person with a bad connection to ruin the fun for everyone else. wither its someone with a roommate that wont get off the computer or a kid madly clicking away at a lag switch, just the millisecond advantage the host can have in a legit grifball match can be enough to make anyone scream at the TV. Can we get some dedicated servers already Microsoft.
Make the ranking system more expansive. That way players want to renew there xbl accounts instead of rushing to 50 and starting a new account each month. Your global rank should be based off of more than skill vs. exp. Experience, kd spread, campaign scores, games played, highest skill, playlist rankings, medals, etc. all should be factors.
One minor thing id like to see changed is id like to be able to veto a map with out waiting for it to load.
Naturally new weapons and vehicles to better balance out the UNSC vs. Covie arsenals, is expected by us fans. Id like to at least see a UNSC Melee weapon. Other tweaks like health bars for your passengers, more armor choices. personaized player icons, new features in the pre/post game lobbies that allow you to save game films without switching lobbies, an updated forge, or to be able to compare stats/medals side by side with your friends in game would be sweet.
In campaign being able to play seperate story lines for both UNSC and the covenant would be a new twist.
The setting of Reach gives the ability to see the height of human technology before the war torn UNSC we have come to know from the original trilogy.
Upgrades for armor like jumppacks, secondary objectives and the ability to pilot vehicles like long swords and pelicans could also add a new dimension to the campaign experiance while offering the ability to try diffrent map layouts instead of back tracking the map every level, throw in a huge free roaming level like a zero gravity fight in the middle of an epic ship battle to mix things up a bit.
