Subject: will halo reach be 'dumbed down' like halo 3?

I personally don't see that Halo 3 was "dumbed down" for more casual gamers. I'd be interested to know why you think that.

increased auto aim,

All that means is that you have to use strategy. You DO know what strategy is, right?

a vastly larger selection of CQB weapons

Again, strategy. For this situation, try NOT charging straight at your opponent like a crazed lunatic.

the addition of the br spread

Oh noes! Realistic bullet physics. That's not dumbing down anything. That is increasing the realism of the physics in the game. The same thing happened with grenades and other weapons.

easier to rank up in as opposed to halo 2

Trueskill, which is mandated by MS, works better. So it is easier to rank up in. At least for a while, until you get past the middle ranks. A bell curve in skill makes far more sense then an exponential decay like you got in Halo 2.

shotguns in team snipers

Shotty Snipers was introduced in Halo 2. Also, strategy once again. STAY AWAY with your Sniper, noob.

equipment thrown in to save ppl who are about to get out bred

You can also use equipment offensively. It adds strategy. Apparently, your brain is so small that you can't handle more strategy than "shoot that guy". Not Bungie's fault.

"Oh no. It is *sightly* harder to get a 4 shot. It takes more skill! I want easy mode!"

Don't mind that the combination of the BR spread and bullet refunding can screw you out of a 4 shot even if you are aiming perfectly. Consistency is key.

your post is so fail im confused where to start. im on top of this game as far as skill and ranks, your in no position to call me bad. you havent even gotten one 50 yet and your actually talking smack to me? gtfo bad brig in nowhere did i say i disliked those things cuz they get me killed. i just dont like that element of the game. i think this game needs to exhibit a larger skill gap, like halo 2, but that cant happen with the focus taken off the br, and with the br spread adding a random factor to your br shots. its no longer ALL skill

Greg Giraldo, George Carlin, Bill Hicks. R.I.P.
T.M.Revolution = 音楽の神

Well the BR is probably better this way. Look at it like this, if the BR was able to shoot totally accurate any range then what's the point of someone even trying to use a sniper? It'd be just like a Shotgun that could kill in one shot at long range, totally pointless to pick up other weapons to some degree. I think the whole reason why the BR is like this is because in Halo 2 it was basicly an "Everything weapon". It was very effective at long and Medium range. Which would basicly render the Sniper pretty useless unless, if you were a good noscope headshot kind of person.

In Halo 3 the best way to probably (I'm not totally sure because I haven't played in 3 months except for 1 day) avoid having the problem shooting is probably to shoot in medium-long range. Just plain long range is best for Sniper. You know what I'm saying?

That's right, they are totally forgetting the Hardcore crowd, I mean they hate you so much they give you dedicated playlists and support your playstyle.

It didn't surprise me that Halo 2 and 3 failed. Most of game sequels fails, it isn't something new.
Don't count Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory as one of the game sequels fail, it got high ratings and positive feedbacks due to it's new style of gameplay.

1 list.

out of the 15+ total lists. the rest are catered to horrible players. so why cant there be 1 more for good players?

I believe that Halo 3 is actually a great balance for casual and hardcore gamers.

The social playlist, infection gametype, ect. are fun for new and casual gamers as they easy to get use to and familiar with as Team Snipers on Guardian or MLG KOTH on Construct are much more for the hardcore gamer.

The greatest clash between these two species was when the ranking system was changed and you could get experience social playlists, sending people playing on their own and full teams into the social playlist demolishing casual players going +25. lol

and action sack is always nice for the casual player or someone bored of rank but not ready to destroy everyone.

as i stated b4, theres ONE list for competetive players, about a dozen for casual players, while i understand us competetive players are outnumbered, i VERY much doubt that its at a 12-1 ratio..... and also non competetive/casual players can still enjoy competetive lists. its the beauty of the ranking system.
