what makes you even think you will be able to use the brute weapon? I think its the same story as the hunter, you cant use it, but i dont know maybe you can, It disappears in the E3 demo but then again its a demo, i dont know, it seemed to make perfect sense before but now i dont know.
According to the weekly update we will in fact be able to use the fuel rod gun (weapon of the Hunters) in Halo 2 and it was available in Halo PC as well; and I'm fairly convicted that given enough time it would have been in the Xbox version, but like a lot of things Bungie wanted to include it was shafted for a timely release. That being said it sort of nullifies the premise of the Brute weapon not being available, although there is a possibility you make be correct. I find it unlikely, however, that they would engineer a weapon like that (with it's interesting blade) if it weren't playable by players. It should also be noted that Eric Nylund took some time to describe the weapon (its ability to launch grenades) and it's "tracers" are seen during the second to last multiplayer screen that shows two Spartan's sieging a cave-like structure. True, it could be co-op (which is likely) but never-the-less, there's nothing about that gun that would be smart to keep out of the hands of players.
