The Mythic Threads (Halo 3) (ODST) (Reach)

Sweet Tyrant. Your guides are always good reads.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

I might finish ODST soon, I have been caught up in other ODST activities.

Such as this.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

DONE!

Finally conquered Coastal Highway today, thus completing my ODST Mythic journey. Gotta admit, I honestly thought the box was going to flake out the second I started heading towards the friendly Phantom. Glad I was wrong for a change :-)

My run of the last segment is a bit messy, so I will probably use someone else's for that little bit of the mission, but other than that, I'm fairly proud of my run :-)

When the dust settles, you will learn what true terror is.

Well, I suppose this is what I get for playing other games... looks like I won't be a "pre-guide" mythic completer for ODST.

On a separate note, I keep getting killed by the most random things in Kizingo Blvd. I seriously hate that mission...

Ah, someone leaked. Now to find the leak and.... plug it.
With justice.

I use coup 5

I just wrapped up the guide on that level. Have to admit, it's been the toughest one to write so far. Not to mention the longest.

I just get frustrated because the most random things will kill me. Like I'll board a ghost, only to have the brute that should be stunned jump right back on and kill me when he kicks me off. Or during the boarding animation, the ghost will get stuck. I also just figured out why the pistol that's around Dutch keeps disappearing on me... apparently pushing a crate onto it makes it disappear into the ground. So, during the defensive phase at the end I run out of rounds.

Seems like the mission has far too much of the "luck" element playing a role, and I don't have it. Checked out your guide though, wasn't anything different from what I do but it was good to see a written (and visual) demonstration. Keep up the good work! Your guides are how I made it through Halo 3's Mythic campaign. :D

Congrats.

I don't know about you, but I thought that completing mythic Coastal Highway felt more of an accomplishment then completing Halo 3 mythic. It might be because it was the last level I needed to complete, therefore I finished Coastal Highway mythic AND Halo 3: ODST mythic at the same time.

Coastal was the most demoralizing level in mythic history in my opinion. The hardest mythic level before this in my opinion was Sierra 117 (don't make fun). It's just that...Mythic ODST was so easy for the first seven levels, then this level comes and kicks you in the ass.

Anyway, good job again. You deserve a cold one.

P.S. I take that back. This level is not the most demoralizing mythic experience. Dying on the last wave before my ODST buddies pick me up is the worst. Even more than dying during the Sierra 117 standoff.

Oh don't worry, Archer. It will be receiving a "special" commentary in my guide ;-)

FINALLY beat Kizingo!

Don't have Pro ATM (it ran out) so here's game stats and I'll be putting the video on my FS soon as I get some points.

Proof.

Mythic difficulty is basically Legendary difficulty with all skulls, right?

plus 0 deaths, plus scoring on, plus each mission has to be done in one sitting (no saving and coming back to it).

ODST update: got Oni Alpha Site down over the weekend, so halfway through Mythic ODST.

Now I have a decision to make: Go back and finish ODST on mythic first, or dive into mythic Reach?

Reach. First off, it's a lot harder, so when you beat it, ODST will seem easy. Secondly, it's a much MUCH better game.

I'm thinking the same. Also, to avoid spamming this thread with things that are not odst mythic related, is there a mythic thread for Reach yet?

Did it ever occur to you that I did it offline? I don't keep my Xbox connected 24-7, I can't afford the internet, nor the electricity. Besides I was playing ODST several hours before any of the Americans were thanks to my timezone and on top of this I also admitted that I am NOT a pro player, read my post properly.
I've never saved and quit during a game with Iron, I just turn my console off unless I'm playing through the campaign seriously, and when I play serious, I dont use skulls because it hampers gameplay. Except for Tilt, that makes it fun.

I've since racked up over 400 games in ODST and a maximum score of 390,000 in a Solo Heroic Firefight, all offline so you can't just look it up on my profile.

Offline or not, it has to be online. That's just the way it has been.

No offense, but if money is so tight to the point where internet and even electricity aren't luxaries you can afford, then why in hell would you invest what little you do have in an Xbox 360 and video games?

Just saying...
