Subject: If Microsoft pushes Halo...

Reach is not going to be the last Halo game. Probably Bungie's last, but not the end of the franchise.
What I'm wondering is... what else in left in the universe that can actually be made into a game? Do you really want more prequels (Harvest), in betweens (First Strike), and spin offs (ODST 2)? The Halo 3 ending did not leave much room for a sequel, if you ask me. The covenant are scattered, (i think) all the prophets died off in High Charity, and the flood are pretty much no more.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

There can always be after Halo. Gamma company is not accounted for. You might see some Covenant games, who knows.

If bungie stops making Halos, I quit gaming. end of story.

Seriously, why leave John alive when everyone else in the galaxy thinks he's dead if there wasn't going to be a sequel? He's also floating towards a mysterious planet in that ending as well.

I think 343 Industries and Microsoft have big plans for Halo, I mean they made a whole studio and Halo Way point, I think they'll get a bunch of big name developers to make more Halo games or something along those lines, and everything might not have to be exactly connected to cannon and like Bungie has said before the Master Chief isn't the only hero in the Halo Universe.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

There is plenty of room for a sequel.

1: Where did Master Chief Go?

2: How will the Arbiter fair defending Sangheilios from the remaining Covenant?

3: What about the Flood on the other Halo Rings? What about the other Shield Worlds?

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

All that is needed (in reality) for another Halo game is a good writer. The Halo universe is huge, the novels alone span several decades and many star systems and individual conflicts. Not to mention the conflicts in the novels are multi-faceted, not only between the UNSC and Covenant, but the in-fighting between the UNSC and the Rebels, they could cover the Great Schism of the Covenant (speration of Elites from the Covenant).

There is a lot that could be done with the Halo franchise, IMO the question is will it continue to be done well.

Grunt Rebellion, Insurrectionist Rebellion, Kig-Yar Rebellion, Taming of the Hunters, Battle for Sangheilios, the Battle at Doisak. Madrigal. There are LOTS of things to cover, they could even go WAY back and do the Formation of the Covenant, which would of course be the end of the game covering the Sangheili-San Shyumm war before the Covenant was even FOUNDED.

Don't even get me started on the Forerunner-Flood Wars.

Maybe i'm just being selfish, but I would prefer for most of the future Halo adventures to be novels. There is so much that is lost in the games when it comes to the story aspect, and the novels are more capable of conveying the complete feel due to the nature of written media.

also, cortana has released a distress signal so earth will eventually pick it up (or a new hostile alien species(or the elites))
