Both sizes have their place in the game. The smaller maps can be an absolute blast as well. However, I don't think Bungie had anticipated the popularity of LANs, which is why we didn't get so many large maps. I'll defintely agree that it would've been nice to have more vehicle maps.

It's matter by what you're playing, who's playing.

2 vs. 2 CTF is really fun on BG. Not!

"Help Help I'm being repressed! Come and see the Violence inherent in the system!"
"Bloody peasant!"
"Oh did you see that? you saw him repress me?"

Well i started arguments in the other topic so i'l be fair here. Maps are good for different things. CTF, Assault, Iron CTF, Race, Single CTF are all good on large maps <mainly BG for 8, SW for when doing 12-16>

But things like Slayer, juggernaught <sp?>, Oddball there better at places like Prisoner and Hang em High <altho some people will complain and say that they are large maps>

oh and to DRWILL, 2 vs. 2 CTF is fun on Battle Creek!

Im not good. im not like "Come Nov 9th i'll rule all"

Hell i'l be honest i've not completed all the game on Legendary on my own <done co-op>.

I'm not the best, but come Nov 9th, just because i'm not good, doesn't mean i'm not going to enjoy it. I play Halo in all aspects and i play to have fun, not get all tense over nothing <altho i do love a good CTF LAN Assault BG>. Unlike some people <cough ShadedHalo cough> i dont pretend to be good, because i'l look like an arse on X-Live.

P.S. I think X-Live will be good, but all those pros will piss me off a bit as they're too good and therefore will ruin my fun <not whine-ing just saying that its not fun if you're getting dicked on 50-4>

hehe, that's what i loved about Bungie's Myth . . . it was an absolute blast to get pwned (no pun intended).

Back on track, 2v2 BG ctf can acdtually be a very fun, intense game if done on 1 xbox. (its always funner to me when I know who i'm playing against).

Yeah it can be fun with single flag CTF where 2 people stop the other 2 from stealing the flag and then vice versa. Theres also enough players to pull off a little strategy.

If given a choice, I will always choose a larger map, provided that we have vehicles to move about in. Also, you need a reasonable amount of people to make it fun. I remember playing against only one other guy in Sidewinder; that map was so huge, we'd be walking around for five minutes until we bumped into each other, then blast each other in the face, then spend another five minutes looking for each other again.

Come on guys, you get my point!?! : ) I'm the best i've played so far, but is really does matter, I play to have fun. But wining adds some suger toping to the fun.

I prefer bigger levels because of me being a sniper and all, but I still like small levels as well...

I forgot that, but Gen. Fox makes a good point. Bigger maps makes it more fun for snipers, and although more interesting CTF games since you never know where the enemy is exactly.

In my own personal experience big maps = longer games. So it all depends on what your perspective is. Would you rather play a bunch of shorter games or a few key long games? As far as tournament play goes, blood gultch, and sidewider are usually not acceptable for slayer matches. And normally i dislike playing ctf on big maps in general because the lack of cover. The game becomes more about killing people enough to get to a control certain points of the map untill you can eventually overwhelm them with sheer numbers to take their flag, and then using a sad glitch to get the flag to your base quickly. IMO that's not what halo is supposed to be about. And in Halo2 with the large FLAG icon above your head it's certainly not going to make survival with the flag any easier.
