Well, this may be slightly or even way off your topic, but what if precursers were god? Here's one of my other posts:

Because Modern humans were around from 250 000BC, Precurser's may have taken humans and accelerated their technological advancement and made them Teir 1 Forerunners. This is because over 150 000 years if there were forerunner, they have to have done something.
The forerunner-flood war was happening in Circa 100 000BC.

It's certainly possible, as is everything. We can't know for sure.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

This has all happened before, this will all happen again.

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

This is unlikely, but still possible. Good thread.

We have no way of knowing if the Forerunners described themselves as "Forerunners." It's possible that the Forerunners considered the Precursors as Forerunners.

Good point about the " Reclaimer" thing, I never really thought about it like that before.
But wouldn't Guilty Spark have said " You are precursor " and the end of halo?

Some can come away from reading "War and Peace" thinking it a simple adventure story, while others can read the ingredients on a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.

The whole thing that humans may "Hold answers to our own past" (spoken by Forerunner), really supports this theory. I think this whole thing is rock solid.

Subject: Humanity are not Forerunners, but in fact Precursors? [NEW Update 1.2]

What a waste....

@ OP:

Well, actually, I think that the reason the Forerunners studied the Humans may have been the need to study their nervous system and program the cells into Halo's harmonic killing frequency. Or they could have been precursors, yes. I like the theory though. Very well thought out.

Also, something else; what if the Precursors came from out of the galaxy? This seems more likely to me, because they would have already been super-OMG advanced when they arrived in the Orion Arm. Then, maybe, they mated with some Foreunner chick and Humans came along.

It's possible I suppose, but then why would the Forerunners deport these Half-Precursor children to Earth?

It really doesn't make sense. You need at least 50,000 in a species for it to be successful, at least. I doubt the Forerunners would send 50,000 humans to Earth, and foret about them...

Yes, I'm a furry. And yes, I like men. So what?

In Halo 3, when Spark says "You ARE Forerunner", this could still be true and support your theory. According to Snakie, the Forerunner could have been 'exiled' Precursors.

Update 2.0 is up in the OP, and it's very interesting indeed. Halo Legends may have a greater impact on the Haloverse than we originally assumed.

Epic in all ways.

I also updated my own Theory with the new info.

Oh Lord, this is all too perfect. The first Halo Legends episode, The Babysitter was released, and it speaks volumes for this theory.

Glad I pointed that out for yah. It just shows that the better of our theories are actually what Bungie is thinking, so anything that comes in the future will fall in place with it. No trying to be biased here but ill use the encyclopedia as an example.

1. It confirmed that the Forerunner did in fact leave this galaxy, and did not in fact die out. That was the wildly excepted idea before.

2. It stated that Engineers could live practically indefinably.
This ripped apart a crucial point in Snakies theory. The Precursors would certainly live forever, if the Forerunner could accomplish it, being less advanced by far.

Don't forget the part about Truth discovering Halo's true purpose. 343 totally stole my idea.

Great post makes a great deal of sense in light of the the first Halo Legends episode. 343 studios would have had to have lost their collective minds to claim those chinese looking buildings as forrunner. The buddha(Could be be Hindu as well though) statue was a bit odd though, are the precursors buddhist?

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

Although there are a few small assumptions that I disagree with, I can say, much to my surprise, that this theory has completely changed my perspective. This seems quite possible. Great insight into the excerpts from IRIS and the Terminals.

“To say more would spoil be it’s overall its a game that needs to be played.” - Aristotle

I think the whole "Japanese Design" thing is a tad bit of a stretch. The statue of the human/Precursor in the temple goes a very long way towards supporting humanity as an offshoot of the Precursor, but the design of the buildings... I just don't think blueprints could account for that.

I really wish I could find a more concrete way of incorporating this into my own theory, if I could it would almost certainly solidify this beyond belief. I already have proof that humans are Forerunner, if I could find a way to use this evidence to prove that humans are also the Precursor irrevocably, I'd essentially have flawless proof that Humans=Forerunner=Precursor.

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

Well, the only thing I'm sure about is that those structures in The Babysitter were definitely Precursor.

Finally we see someone trying to fit the architecture in 'The Babysitter' into canon rather than just complaining about it. This theory is epic. Fantastic job.

What choice did we have? We're going to have to fly with it now, whether we like it or not.

I guess instead of blueprints, there are similar ruins on Earth, and ancient humans copied them.

O' and the pyramids? They stand on top of Forerunner temples.
