I havent seen many forums about melee controls for halo reach. But i dont think i have seen any forums about use of natal.

Natal could really help the melee system for halo reach. Bungie has also said they are intrested in using natal. But what else could they use it for other than melee?

Now for how u would use the controls.

Hold the B button, then make one of the following actions:

Thrust left arm forwood-a normal punch doing usual damage.
Rush head forwood-allows u to hedbutt doing greater damage but leaving u stund.
lifting eather leg up- kicking doing less damage but leaves oponent stund.

These are just the basics I have in mind.

Please leave idias for more melee idias and natal idias.

Heres a problem: How do you turn around when using natal controls and still see the TV at the same time?

If natal is going to be implemented, it won't be used to control the playable character.

Maybe just the melee part could be used. You play normally, but when you want to melee, you flick your controller towards the screen.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. I have an idea:

The player could press over on the d-pad or something to switch to a different
Control scheme, somewhat reminiscent of a fighting game's controls like Mortal Combat,
or Soul Caliber, or something.

The Controls don't have to be as in depth as in those games but it would provide more options than the generic punch, such as kicks, blocks, dodges, and combos. I think it would add quite a bit more skill to the game.

This video shows why you shouldn't try to put natal in an fps.

Don't get all gimmicky and mess around with motion controls. People don't want that in an fps.

I'd rather just press the B button. That doesn't run the risk of having a controller accidentally thrown out the window.

I don't think it too wise to implement a complex system for something like the melee. It's function is to allow you to have a quick shortrange attack. Adding too many layers to it will more than likely effect it's utility.

I dunno, it's hard to say either way.

you are only goin to use use natel for melee controls. and yes we dont need another wii out there but i think natal can work with some games but not take over the 360s games. and it only needs to be a small part of halo reach. but dont you think it would be cool to use an energy sword diferently. or wack a brute in the chest with a gravity hammer.
