I experimented with the javascript. It gets the time for the timer with the difference of your system clock and the August 24 date and time. I messed around with my system clock to make sure, even set it to 2 mins b4 the Aug. 24 time. Nothing happened when it hit zero, just went into the negatives. So unless the Fridge Owl ppl changed the javascript, it should be the same as any other copy of the javascript on your comp.
think about it i'm guessing they were smart and made it so they would update the site when it happened and not just let you change your clock its bungie not monkeys
Look. Download countdowntochina.js from Ilovebees and convert it to txt and look at the javascript. I copied it and isolated the html with the timer from the Ilovebees site. I have it running independanly. It's not syncronized with bungie at all. Look at the javascript. It figures out how much time is left with the difference of the time on your system clock and the time that the countdown is supposed to hit 0, Aug. 24, 6:06 A.M. or whatever. It will change if you change your system time. Bungie has nothing to do with it, unless they reprogram the javascript file!!!
