"anyone have the link to that microsft event taking place in 2 days? "

you're an idiot, this event is a largely well known event known as meltdown. It's not fake.

ryan--that's been stated in this thread like 15 times...nice find

I knew that it had already been stated that the game was rated M, I was just kind of thinking out loud i guess.

It says it comes out 11/9/04, but the game's already rated. Wha?

Uh, Bungie got their rating months ago. Frankie mentioned it I believe. Go to the ESRB's website if you want to learn how the rating process works. There is nothing special about having the rating already.

Here's a discription for the Microsoft Meltdown Confrence being held in two days:

"Meltdown 2004 is two intense days for gaming industry experts to test your limits. Go one-on-one with leading hardware developers. Learn the latest news about gaming's hottest advances. Get straight-up answers to your toughest questions. Because there is more at Meltdown than any one person can absorb, most companies will want to send everyone who wants to learn how to get the most from Microsoft® Windows® XP and DirectX, as well as prepare for the next generation software development platform for gaming: XNA. This event isn't just for game developers anymore. Meltdown 2004 provides content for nearly everyone in the gaming business, with tracks covering graphics development, publishing/business development, Quality Assurance, game testing, and of course, a track for hardcore game programmers."

The countdown does point to about 2 months before the release date, I know that somebody said this before but that is probably the day the Convenant attack Earth. I bet than videos will be released or discs xbox discs that you can pick up at bestbuy or somewhere showing videos of the months leadaing up to the first mission in Halo 2. That way everyone will be seriously pumped for the release.

Best case scenario: the delinquent site gets fixed before the 29th, when I'm flying to Beijing. There's no way I'm just going to bail and leave Aunt Margaret to deal with this until who knows when. (She bought me my All-Asia air pass in exchange for 7 years of indentured tech support, and ...... "

There have been repeated comments from Frankie about enlisting people on a secret mission to deliver a Halo 2 build somewhere....

PAX opens the 28th, but promises playable Halo 2 on the 29th for a couple of hours.

What if this "best case scenario" implies if all the deliquent "bugs" are fixed in time, they'll be able to deliver playable Halo 2.... which could be anything from the demo (which is far fetched) to a stealth release of the full game (even farther fetched).

Likewise... people REALLY need to start examining the final line of the countdown... referring to a choice we would have to make.

What sort of choice could Bungie leave us with that would require serious consideration?

if it is open to many ppl, then sum1(if u R going) ask aboiut ilovebees.com, and, i think that the DVD covenant attack thing is a REALLY good idea, but, as u said with the games, they will have to make so many DVD's, it will cost to much! and take up to much time! (although that is wot they could have been doping when the were bringing it back even more, or they could have been doing that for the suspense!)

My Specualtion - This is a huge game or easter egg hunt.

My Proof - Somone posted a link here to an overview site for all ilovebees.com info ... on the site it said (http:// bees.netninja.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

"Overview
Several people in the Alternate Reality Gaming (ARG) community received mysterious packages containing honey, and so the mystery began. "

I checked our ARG and found out its a wierd roleplaying website. ( http://www.unfiction.com/history/ )

"Alternate Reality Gaming (also known as beasting, unfiction, or immersive fiction) is an interactive fusion of creative writing, puzzle-solving, and team-building, with a dose of role playing thrown in. It utilizes several forms of media in order to pass clues to the players, who solve puzzles in order to win pieces of the story being played out.

Clues can be passed through web pages, email, voicemail, snail mail, television advertisements, movie posters, campus billboards, newspaper classifieds...really, in any way that information can be passed.

Many times, the puzzles that must be solved cannot be solved alone. This genre of game almost requires participation in a group or community that works together to win past the more difficult hurdles.

Beasting is unique in that it wouldn't be possible without the community-building and networking power of the Internet. Besides the obvious fact that there would be no web pages or email in which to hide clues, it would be nearly impossible for the diverse audience to coordinate the sheer amount of data, speculation, and solutions among players. "

On ARG they talk about using Television Commercials to pass clues (i.e this ad) and that that many times, the puzzles that must be solved cannot be solved alone. This genre of game almost requires participation in a group or community that works together to win past the more difficult hurdles (i.e Bungie.net Forums)..

I emailed the owner, and Dana, and i am waiting for a reply and stamtent from both...

The last thing we see is that familiar Xbox logo, but if you look carefully, there is one quick frame where the www.xbox.com turns into www.ilovebees.com. Going to this site opens a whole new can of worms, which we can't really talk about yet. You can be sure that we'll be letting you know what's up as soon as we can!
