I got this from junkyard.net This morning, something quite strange cropped up. It seems the Halo 2 Theatrical Trailer has an Easter egg of sorts. At the end, for two frames, the www.xbox.com URL under the Xbox logo changes to www.ilovebees.com. The site appears to be hacked, but looking deeper will find many an odd detail. Among these are the META keywords and cryptic messages scattered throughout the domain. It has been noted that the countdown on the front page is to August 24, 77 days before Halo 2's release (remember Bungie's odd fascination with the number seven). Some odd phrases can be found in the hex for several of the site's images as well.
I called the number provided in ilovebees.com's WHOIS data. A fairly normal-sounding answering machine came on (a recording can be found here), and I left a message. You will be updated if I get a return call.
The site's owner put up a blog after the hacking occurred. Much information about the site can be found there, in addition to some posts by "Cortana" that are excerpts from the Cortana Letters. There seems to be a connection that Bungie is involved in some way; why would they not take legal action if one of their copyrighted characters was connected to a hacking?
This incident, dubbed The Haunted Apiary, has even managed to make its way to Slashdot. Discussion is also underway at The HBO Forum, Bungie.net, and unfiction.
Well its called The Haunted Apiary now. It seems like this is similar to all your base...........
