This site was referenced in the weblogs
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_24

Look at all the stuff that happened on Aug 24th in the past, things that were mentioned in the weblogs: Windows 95 was released? The printing of the Guetenburg bible?

I am sure there is meaning to all of this. Why cant Dana email me and tell me???

It happened one day, about noon, going towards my boat, I was exceedingly surprised with the print of a flea's naked foot on the shore, which was very plain to be seen on the sand.

Just one thing, in case it hasn't been pointed out:

Basically all the hidden info found in the bees-pages is listed at http://bees.netninja.com/wiki/index.php?

..so there's no real need to copy your findings here.

on the AUGUST 24 weblog page - 8/24 has significance since it is 77 days before the Halo2 release date - This indicates something from another world is contacting DANA, Something called the "hijacker". Look at the motives and the hive mentality.

http://ilovebees.blogspot.com/2004/07/august-24.html

Hi Dana,

You asked why this site? Some people (including me) speculate that something about the site attracted whatever is trying to communicate through the messages on the site (which for now I will call the "Hijacker", but it's possible there may actually be more than one thing communicating here)

Assuming the site choice wasn't random, the Hijacker choose the site for a reason, some thoughts:

1. Somehow bees are something the Hijacker relates to (the "hive mind"? honey? fun recipes?) which made it look for sites about bees.

2. The name "ilove bees" seems like a good choice if you are looking to communicate to people that understand bees.

3. Something about your Aunt's bees being infested with varrao mites relates to something in the Hijacker's experience or to what the Hijacker is trying to tell us.

You also asked about it's motives:
1. Giving a count down can also be a way to try to warn you, not necessarily a threat from the Hijacker to cause harm.

2. There actually seems to be two tones to the messages. The "MayDay" things read to me as a desperate cry for help. Similar to the way you reached out to us in your blog.

On the other hand some of the other messages, as your Aunt noted, sound threatening.

But we don't know enough about it to try to ascertain the motives. As I mentioned, there may be two entities here: the one asking for help through the mayday stories and the other seeming to pose some sort of threat. So, try not to get too worried about it until we know more.

A question that interests me is why use parts of famous shipwreck stories to tell a story? As if, in order to communicate the Hijacker searched and lifted pieces from the stories to tell it's tale. I am still thinking about this one.

By the way, you wanted to be in a strange new world, it looks like one came to you... without your having to leave home after all.

Rose

Hello - I am Margaret

Hi, I'm Margaret and thank you for visiting my website! I am a retired substitute schoolteacher (17 years in the Vacaville school system.) I became interested in the internet through my honey business. I live with my cat, Farnsworth.
Farnsworth on the pillow!

I’m a beekeeper, click HERE for information about my hives and my business.

My hobbies include reading, especially mysteries. I especially love Ellis Peters and the Brother Cadfael books and Alexander McCall Smith and the Precious Ramotswe books. As you can see I like my mysteries cozy! And of course, I like reading them with a cup of red tea with my own honey!

But the most important thing in my life is my family. My sister Chloe, and her daughter Dana. My sister and I didn't always get along growing up, but she has always been there for me, and Dana, my niece, is truly the daughter I never had.

Special thanks to my Dana.

It is indeed a countdown, and a countdown to halo 2. It cleary is a bogus site made my someone from bungie. Rather like the fake site 'whatbadgerseat.com of a simpsons episode.

THI IS IT THIS IS IT...

Somone posted a link here to an overview site for all ilovebees.com info ... on the site it said

"Overview
Several people in the Alternate Reality Gaming (ARG) community received mysterious packages containing honey, and so the mystery began. "

I checked our ARG and foudn out its a wierd roleplayign website

"Alternate Reality Gaming (also known as beasting, unfiction, or immersive fiction) is an interactive fusion of creative writing, puzzle-solving, and team-building, with a dose of role playing thrown in. It utilizes several forms of media in order to pass clues to the players, who solve puzzles in order to win pieces of the story being played out.

Clues can be passed through web pages, email, voicemail, snail mail, television advertisements, movie posters, campus billboards, newspaper classifieds...really, in any way that information can be passed.

Many times, the puzzles that must be solved cannot be solved alone. This genre of game almost requires participation in a group or community that works together to win past the more difficult hurdles.

Beasting is unique in that it wouldn't be possible without the community-building and networking power of the Internet. Besides the obvious fact that there would be no web pages or email in which to hide clues, it would be nearly impossible for the diverse audience to coordinate the sheer amount of data, speculation, and solutions among players. "

Here's ARG's URL: ARG

This proves that thios is like a whole easter egg hunt..
