Did anyone bother to follow some links and find the blog of the lady that owns the site?
I didn't feel like sorting through 86 pages to find it. Anyways here are some excerpts(sp?)....

"So the bug — or virus, or spyware, or, whatever it is — is now apparently counting down to something, and that something looks like it's going to happen while I am somewhere in Szechuan province and I can't fix it and yeah it's creeping me out and yeah I'm not happy about this. (The recent appearance of words like "mayday", "metastasize", "hemorrhage," and "classified" isn't cheering me up, either.) "

Either way you slice it, someone has at least taken the time to write about this supposed hacking....there is a message to be found here.
Also I believe the countdown of the weird hijack thing is counting down to August 24th. This is something significant to Bungie as in the blog several events that have happened before
on August 24th are listed. Here is the list.

"Aug 24, 1995 Microsoft inflicts Windows 95 on an unsuspecting world.

*
I went hiking in Claremont Canyon yesterday to clear my head. Three hours, six miles, and 1000 ft elevation change later, I was sweaty, sunburnt and still fixated on the bug and its countdown. While up there, didn't pay enough attention to the trail... scratched my palms slipping on loose gravel, more than once. Now it hurts to type.

You know the special dates that mean something to you, but not everyone else? (For me, March 21 will always be the day I got called to the Vice Principal's office for cutting 8th-grade chorus. I think it's because I have a permanently ingrained mental image of the yellow hall pass that was sent from the VP’s office to collect me.)

What's gonna happen?! Oh no!

In all likelihood it's a good hunk of viral advertising that is designed to get us doing exactly what we're doing right now.....thinking about it.

A 90 page thread does not go unnoticed by them. If the discussion wasn't appropriate it would have been locked by now......no?

Yanno, if nothing comes of this on the 24th, I'm gonna sue :) I mean the clues are soooo convincing but speculatory. They mention that on the 24th MS INFESTED the world with Windows 95. They relate the release to a sickness. Just like the thing that's going the metastisize in 17 days.

Also the Gutenberg Bible was printed...Bible.... Halo Bible?? Or snippets at least, of course they wouldnt release anything we shouldnt know, but even a snippet would be tasty.

well i don't know about amature, but yeh the web site is supposed to look amature because they want to make it look like some everyday ordinary person who made a little website got hacked, but if your reffering to the actual messages well they are supposed to look like it is suposedly someone trying desperatly to get some kind of message *notice the MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY* but yeh amature is good because if it was proffesional looking we'd all know it was a big hoax in the first place, not that we don't already

  • 07.24.2004 12:22 AM PDT

enough of this. it may be interesting and all, but i'm scarred -blam!-less.
