For those of you who dont know what kodu is Click Here

Its pretty much a game maker on its own, if Halo Reach's Forge/ map maker was like this the game would never get old.

Here is an example of something good someone made link

well if they devloped forge like this from the start for Reachg is possible, considering we know nothing about it, also Kodu was a Microsoft research game so it very well might have been sugested.

*loud, annoyed sigh*
fine, then I have to explain it. c'mon that was obvious though.

halo is M$'s money maker and biggest and most famous franchise. every person that has an xbox have AT LEAST played a halo game in their life, and 90% probably own one.
so they make map packs and force you to buy it by reducing the amount of playlists you can go in without these maps.
you buys maps with microsoft points, that you have to buy.

now if you give us a way to make maps ourselves, then nobody is going to buy the maps anymore. if they dare make us pay for content we can make ourselves, then people will play custom for free. 90% of players would not buy the maps anymore, they'd make less money.

that's why forge is so badly limited. that's why we'll never ever EVER have a map editor of ANY kind in a halo game. I'd bet my nuts on it without a doubt.

*looks at Halo PC and Halo 2 vista*...so uh what was that about no map makers in Halo? Also its Bungie who will be deciding due to the fact that MS will be publishing this one as after this Halo bungie and MS are cut off from eachother, so bungie very will could put one in there since they are the dev's

have you ever bought additional maps sold separately from the game (just like DLC, I'm not talking of an addon) for a PC game? I sure as hell didn't. if I need maps for counterstrike, I donwload them for free on fpsbanana or whatever site.

these games are old game... HCE is like 8 year old, and H2 is more than 4 years old... that's also why they gave us tools to make stuff. and priced DLC doesn't exist in pc gaming.
I was talking of consoles only.

That's because on the PC, piracy is a major problem.

and to your other arguement, halo belongs to M$, not bungie.

M$ published everything halo and after Reach, halo will be made by a MICROSOFT-made studio, 343 Industries.

I know that, but this is the last Halo game Bungie has a deal with MS with after this the strings will be cut and we can finally get new IP's

well, to be exact XD bungie split off M$ a little after H3 was done if I remember well. they're free to work on new IP or revisit their older ones if they want now.
but since M$ owns halo (and thanks to that, reach won't be the last halo game), bungie's devs have their hands tied. they're not free... and if M$ disapproves of a feature, they'll make bungie remove it.

so we'll probably have forge, with more options and stuff... but it'll never be as complex as kodu, or even the farcry 2 map editor.
