TROW TROW TROW!

  • 08.30.2009 9:30 PM PDT

The Covenant standard language is just English words said backwards, and slowed down.

The person who did sergeant Johnson did the voice for the Halo 1 Elites I believe. So when they said, "Wort, wort, wort" It was Johnson saying, "Go, go, go!"

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure..

Signatures are for squares.

We should no longer be able to understand the covenant, as Mark V had no translator, like Mark VI.

WildCard Machinima motto: "Make 'em laugh, make them cry, make them remember why."

My motto:"We have all the time in the world, the only obsticles are the ones we put in front of us that stop us..."

I really don't care. If they decide this they should make it optional...pluss they can always add and easter egg...

  • 08.30.2009 10:47 PM PDT

Do you really care? you can't automatically see my signature anyway.

it was definately sergeant johnson, but i don't know about the go, go, go part.

  • 08.30.2009 10:51 PM PDT

actually i was playing halo 3 today and i heard one say it. it wasn't the same but he did say it.

The Covenant should be able to speak broken English, or English filled with a a bunch of zealous religious talk. The Mark V armor had translators, but they were still primitive and only translated literally.

Well the Covenant Know some of our "English" apparently I play Xbox so much I know everything the brutes and Elites say not entirely, any who, we can hear what they say since they say some of our language it's not like their "aliens" throwing up hand signs saying "Come in peace" and noting else able to say in English lol.

Down with english, up with sangheilingish?

You shouldn't be able to understand the Covenant, since this is at the same time MC goes to Alpha Halo and he can't understand them either.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

First off, though the big "Fan" thing is "Wort Wort Wort", the Elites actually say "Wog wog wog"

also They DO say it in Halo 2 and 3, just significantly LESS OFTEN.

Mark VI did not have a translator, Cortana was doing the translation, she explains this on the level Delta Halo when she says "I will translate if the Prophet says anything interesting."

While do like the Elite dialogue in Halo 2, (It gave the elites personality and depth, and it made them more interesting, as opposed to fighting a alien with engrish) I believe the elites, did in fact, speak english in halo 2, givin that marines usually responded to their taunts, and some rare taunts elites said to marines were definitly english.

(for an example, a rare taunt in the level Regret)

Honor Guard Elite: Why don't you come out here in the open, human?

Female Marine: Why don't you come over here, and find me!

Back on topic, as for the elite dialogue in Reach, while don't mind if they say wort wort wort as often as they did in halo 1, i'd prefer it, if they retain their dialogue from halo 2/3, unless of course elites are going to be unplayable monsters in reach.

Spork! Spork, spork, spork spork. ORC! ORC ORC ORC!
/mandatory Robot Chicken joke

I did like the wort, wort wort the elites said it was funny. But I still prefer the raw sound quality of the weapons, you could never get away with it today but it was brilliant

I declare Neap

I never understood how the Elites managed to suddenly learn Shakespearean English.

Halo: Reach should represent the Covenant as they are perceived to be: Aliens. It gives the feel that THEY are foreign, and in some situations, that YOU are foreign.

I definitely support this.

Just enjoy the damn game!
Who cares about BR vs AR

Wort Wort Wort *stick with a plasma grenade* NNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I wanted a gumball so I said "Yo devil you got change for a soul?"Satan appeared and said "Yeah, yeah mosuckra! I got yo change right here just sign this contract and I'll give you your quarters!" So I signed it, lost my soul, and got 4 quarters. I have never regretted this decision.

I always loved Wort Wort Wort!

Skillet was here and referred to himself in the third person.

Being REACH... they should speak as they did in Halo 1.

Especially since they aren't our allies.

I believe that's the plain and simple answer.
