Re-live Marathon:Durandal. Get it today for 800 Microsoft points on the marketplace.

i like it, but bungie would probably do something to make it different from SWBF space battles...

Sounds interesting, but a bit complicated. As a side note, to all those people who keep saying the hornet could be used in a space battle: no, it couldn't. Go here and see for yourself. It is an atmospheric vehicle. No more, no less.

Ok then, let's trade out the Hornet and replace it with the Hawk and then put this in the Hawks old place Falcon

While this is a great idea, people should be forced to do a specific job/position.

Feet First Into Hell.
ODST General since Halo 2
Xbox Live status - Repaired

I mostly skipped through 90%ish of this thread, but to cover the first thing on servers and the game sizes.

Servers are handled by MS not the developer, that is why we actually most likely pay for live, while this has its benefits it also can restrict certain things. hence why Champions onlines console release is all bogged down right now.

in addition bungie usually shoots for lower numbers in their game because they like the closer quarters that keep combat tight.

as for space combat, sadly to keep a ship working you would need a good decent number of positions and even if you get say a willing pilot or gunner does not mean they would be good, for instance 90% of the people who go for the helo in Bad Company crash with 45 seconds of take off before even taking gunfire.

and sadly non-moving capital ships tends to become stale as Battlefront proved, while the space combat in it was wonderful being able to fly in any direction and being able to attack from any direction was wonderful carrying it out on a large enough scale to not make it repetitive would be hard.

Actually that is the whole point of the bridge crew, to keep the capital ships moving and keep the combat varied in every game you play,
As with more movement creates a unique experience with every game, stopping it from becoming stale and keeping people interested.

Just enjoy the damn game!
Who cares about BR vs AR

As I have said for every Space battle thread. Yes in a Halo-Universe game, such as HaloWars, no for Reach.

Beware the smiley face! =D

It's a good idea, but remember this game is going to go to a wide audience due to Halo's reputation. A lot of people will find this too complicated, get bored or not understand how to play. And if you dont have a mic, then you cant play this gametype, end of. It is too difficult.

That's why the OP idea does not worl. It should just be like Battlefront 2 but have the twists and uniqueness that Bungie can add.

Screw recon, I want my 42 steak dinners.

it would be cool if they made it a whole different gametype and map, that way you don't always see people in the ships and no one fighting on the ground and vice versa.

but it would be eerily similar to Star wars battlefront 2.

How many times do I have to say this?
WAYPOINTS!!!!
Thats why there is the captain!

And is that not what this is though?
Batllefront 2 space battles, EXCEPT with control over the capital ships and on a larger scale. Why does it not work?
Yes there are small problems, but aslong as you get told the objectives its fine.
