I only have about 10 of my favourite CE maps downloaded, but I want all of them. I know how to download, compress, and move them into the maps folder, but it takes too long. Does anyone know how to mass download them, compress, etc. and do it all at the same time or do I have to do each map by itself?

you have to do each one separately... but im not sure what compression youre talking about...

just extract and copy the .map file....
takes like 5 seconds. now i have like 100 maps... so ive simplified it for me. i put em all in the base directory of a rar file and if i ever need to copy em into the maps folder again, i just extract the archive into that folder and voila! all done. first time tho... maybe like 10-20 seconds per map

1. haloimpulse.com has a map pack with about 200 maps. I have it, it's about 1.3GB but is definately loaded. You should also get the Hall of Fame map pack from halomaps.co.uk. All quite good.

2. Halo CE is dying, plain and simple. It had its day and its fame. True, still has the hardcore audience still playing, but mostly it's barely hanging on.

Halo CE is a multiplayer only version of Halo PC, but unlike Halo PC, there are hundreds of custom maps available to play.

Check out the link in my sig...

No offense, but i dont see the point in haveing all those maps when the is only like 30-50 people playing Ce at a givin time. Also most of the people playing play maps like zanzibar and such.

Everybody is wrong about few people playing it. Tons of people play it, but just on their own maps that don't show up on your list. Only custom maps that you have already downloaded and ones that come with the game(Blood Gulch, Sidewinder, Infinity, etc.) will show up on your list. Check your filters and there will be one that says "Show Custom Maps" and by default it will say no. On yes, more maps will appear, but you won't be able to play them(Unless you download it). But if you download every map from a good website ( http://halomaps.co.uk/index2.php ) there will be tons of servers. I litterally spent a whole day downloading, compressing, and copying maps into the CE folder(If someone has a quick way, please tell me;) ).

Yes you have to do it manually. I think the people here who can should host a custom map server. When I upgrade, I'm giving my old box to my little brother, who will have a 1.5 Mbps Cable Connection soon. It'll be running a Halo DS - that's all. I'll uninstall everything else and optimize it just for that. It's a long way off, but it'll be fun.

You don't know what your talking about vector. Out of all the servers on CE, only 4 are playing zanzibar at any given time.

You know, with all the maps and such I only see about 20-30 servers with never more than 100-150 players. That's virtually no one. Granted, not everyone is on at the same time...but still...that's sad.

Just aswell I don't really care what you think then, eh? Just tell me this... If no-one played Halo CE,

1) Why would I take the time and spend my money (£40 / $73.18 a month) on Halomaps.co.uk to help out the community?

2) Why Halomaps.co.uk now has over 500 members, and it hasn't even been reopened for a month yet?

People DO play Halo CE, and to be honest, I'm sick of hearing people complaining and -blam!-ing about how no-one ever plays... How about getting on yourself, or can't you handle the competition from seasoned players who are fed up with all the idiots who have infested Halo PC?

This suguestion is probably bogus but you could try. When you are moving files into other files or anything like that, Press and hold ALT and then press A will highlight everything. Then you can right click, and copy, or cut. It's what I do when movin' files. Again, It might not work, but it never hurts to try.
