Subject: Hitscan button in Halo reach

Hey guys, I was thinking that since Bungie is really tight with the MLG community and competitive halo gameplay in itself...
I think that it would be a good idea to add an option to the custom games lobby to turn on/off hitscan weapons.
For those of you who don't know what hitscan weapons are, they're basically instant hit weapons. no shot lead necessary .
I believe that adding that option would really improve the competitive experience for halo multiplayer. However, if people would still like a little more realism to the game, then they could just toggle the option off.
what does everyone think of this idea?

hitscan doesn't mean instant kill. it means instant hit detection (like if everybody was hosting).

and......... why not. but it might be hard to code and stuff.

Well since one side screams "WE WANT HITSCAN!"
and the other screams "WE WANT REALISM!"
wouldn't that be a nice compromise?

"Hitscan" it means placing the reticule over a target and pulling the trigger guarantees a hit. In Halo 2, the BR was a hitscan weapon. In Halo 3, this is not the case, not even for the host. Two factors were added to make this so: travel time and spread for every bullet fired.

Anyway, hitscan is asinine for a burst-fire or fully automatic weapon. Halo may be science fiction, but the human infantry weapons adhere to realistic physical sensibilities. You're burst-firing projectiles from a gun, not playing laser tag. If you want hitscan weapons, make a gametype with sniper rifles and increased health.
