The notion that the Master Chief "rules the ring" has nothing to do with him appearing animated in the Prophet's throne
Now, actually seeing the Prophet's throne confirms that this is absolutely not the same vehicle. They don't look anything alike. In fact there's really no way you can compare the two. The Prophet's chair (if this is one of the final renders which I'd have to say it is) has sharp corners, clear-cut segments and what appears to be lights and a variety of jutting extensions.
However, this thing shown at 4:22 on the X03 documentary appears to nearly be one material (if it's segmented it's not even remotely as overt as the Prophet's throne) and the front end of this thing rises up towards the Master Chief's front in one piece (much like some sort of control system, steering mechanism), something which never happens on any side of the Prophet's throne. That aside, the bottom of this alleged vehicle swoops down between his leg in what appears to be one solid piece about a meter in width. The Prophet's throne doesn't though, it's a flat panel which runs parallel to the lower housing of the throne.
The only thing that appears remotely similar is the back, and it's extremely difficult to tell because the back of the image on the X03 video is blurry. Everything else appears to be different which leaves us with a few possibilities. If it is a render of Master Chief on a Prophet's chair, than it's a different version than we have ever seen of it. If it's not than it must either be a new vehicle that will be included in Halo 2 or something that was scrapped early or perhaps done without intentions of it being in the game to begin with.
From what we know about the Prophet's throne, it looks nothing like that at all.
