Success is just going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiasm.

In Halo Reach, do you think it would be cool if your armour premutations would give you a slight advantage in combat? By slight i mean it would rarely be a game changing advantage.
Now, to prevent people from becoming gods, the more of one type of armour you wear the more of that effect you get. Examples:

EOD:would give you resistance to exsplosions, like surviving a plasma grenade at your feet.

Recon:gives you a speed increase, maybe running across sandtrap a second or so faster.

CQB:gives you a stronger melee.

I'm open to criticizim and idea's about the other armour parts, assuming they have the same parts in Reach.

Discuss.

True, but then again we never see or hear about any of the other armour parts in the games or books. So why not just in multiplayer? Thats what I meant for the armour effects in the first place

No thanks, Halo is about everyone being equil, not about perks.

Is that why there's asymmetrical maps where things happen like one side has a spartan laser and the other starts with a sniper rifle? Or one side gets quick access to the sword, where the other gets a power drainer?

Sounds like whether you start on Red or Blue team is enough of a perk already.

Soon to be breaking news:

US Coast Guard prepares for massive rescue mission after Iranian fleet sinks off shore. Reports say a small thunderstorm caused most of the ships to simply...fall apart.

would be neat but would change multiplayer forever and this is sorta like classes so im not for it.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I would say no so that there isn't any way to exploit armor permutations.

The unique thing about Halo is that every player is exactly the same in mechanical capability, same hitboxes, same base potential.

It would be worse if these armor permutations were unlockable, since that would create striations of players based on what they unlocked for use in MP. Better, if any boosting items, to grant access to anyone.

Adding armor variables destroys that by introducing new variables.

No, reach is when Master Cheif is a full-fledged spartan. He never directly particapates in the ground battle, though.
Just read the book The Fall of Reach.
