Perks have been the mainstay of the Call Of Duty 4 series Multiplayer, so why shouldn't the (possibly) greatest game series ever have them? You guys got any ideas of some halo style perks?
Now, an explanation of my purpose before you flame me. I have the rare ability to see both sides of an argument. I realize that perks could ruin the finely-balanced formula halo has been built on. I also realize that they could add a whole new level of depth to the halo multiplayer.
So this post is in support of the latter, but that doesn't mean that I can't see both sides of the argument. Thank you for your consideration.
Here's my ideas:
Stealth Armor: Decreases the range at which other people detect you on their radars
Grenade pouches: Carry more grenades. Nuff' said
NVGs: Night Vision. Do you seriously need me to explain this one?
Super Radar: Opposite of Stealth Armor
Dual Triggers: Fire at twice the rate for all automatic weapons
Servo skeleton: Can Dual wield normally single wield weapons (dual rockets ^_^)
Ammo pouches: Carry more ammo
Battle stims: FIGHT THROUGH THE PAIN SOLIDER! Your health is 10% more damage resistant.
Martyrdom: Don't hate on me for this one >.>
Supreme Reflexes: Reloading goes faster.
Steady Hands: Less recoil
Note: To all you people who complain that perks have already been done by Cod,and making them will turn Halo into a Call of Duty rip-off, allow me to enlighten you:
It is scientifically impossible to create a completely original idea. No matter what you do, on some level, someone has done it before. I understand CoD has already done perks, but they stole it from someone else, who stole it from someone else, etc. even if they didn't do it intentionally. So why shouldn't Bungie add it's own unique style to the perk system? Bungie is creative enough to give it a fresh appearance, and skilled enough to balance it out correctly. I for one, would love the new layer of depth to the system. Or is having to manage equipment straining your brain already?
Note: To those who complain that it would unbalance the system, consider this:
I have read a lot of the novels associated with the Halo universe, and it seems to me that the multiplayer has nerfed the weapons and buffed the spartans for the multiplayer. This is completely okay with me, as a matter of fact, it is quite enjoyable to survive blasts and other forms of damage that would kill a normal man. But all the same, if Bungie ever forayed into a CoD style tactical shooter, (Rainbow six Vegas 2 style with ODSTs would be EPIC, but that's a discussion for another time.) these are some things they could try.
Note: This is an ideas forum, not a forum so you can tell me I suck, and that the ideas suck, and that perks suck. This is a forum for rational people with rational ideas for Halo's future. If you do not like the idea of perks, don't post. Thank you.
