-blam!-ing terrible idea, not because it would urn Halo into CoD though. Go kill yourself please.

  • 09.06.2009 1:31 AM PDT

The only way I would accept this is if it only stayed in a few playlists. But if I'm thinking correctly, It would only work in social. Correct?

I think that adding perks for halo reach will ruin the multiplayer it will be too much like call of duty.

I wouldn't really like perks, this is not CoD. I'm sorry for the critism but Halo's not a game for that. Plus, they already have something like perks i.e Overshield powerup and stealth powerup and custom powerup.

P.S.I agree with you on the dual wielding one but whats the downfall.

But seriously, the only people who would hate on this idea are obsessed fanboys afraid of change. Thanks for the heads-up though.
...or people who thinks perks are a terrible idea and want the fair gameplay of Halo.

It was hard for me to not start bashing for the list of perks. But I'll keep it simple and to the point NO Halo should not have anything even remotely close to perks that would destroy the game and chang everything.
You're asking for is Call of Duty: Halo which would be a crap game unless it was only based on the Marines/ODSTs, but Spartans with those perks would be horrible. Think about it, he stated a perk that would make your spartan Have 50% more health. Do I even have to list the issues here?

Are we being serious here? Perks are one of the worst changes that came with 4 to the COD series.

  • 09.06.2009 9:15 AM PDT

Beware the smiley face! =D

One of the great things about Halo is that all players start on level footing when it comes to equipment, weapons, armour.

By doing this you would take this away. Some of these ideas are unbalanced too - 50% damage resistance? Really?

No support.

EDIT - Servo skeleton is also a bad idea. And martydom in Halo would just be plain silly - there is enough grenades flying about as it is. Also I dont mean to flame and be harsh about it, but its hard not to. And your ideas for perks in the first place are all in CoD except for servo skeleton.

I'm sorry, but perks just cant work in Halo. Its like putting classes in Halo - everybody would use rockets and sniper, or something.

Perks are ruining CoD and if Halo does it, it will also be ruined

Nothing is better than gaming through the day, into the night, then back into the day. It's like when you finally push that power button you feel like you've accomplished nothing, but at the same time, you can't stop smiling.

Seriously OP, get out...

Just enjoy the damn game!
Who cares about BR vs AR

I was originally for perks, now I am completely against them. my arguments will undoubtably be listed above.

Anyway, i hate the idea, no offense. First because it isnt original at all. CoD already uses a perk system. Halo doesnt.

okay seriously, i wrote a whole paragraph on this subject.
Your paragraph is wrong though. Somebody had to come up with the idea first if someone was going to copy it.

You realize the irony in all this, right? By posting that you hate the idea, you cause the subject to become flamed, causing more people to be interested in the post, which gets them to post. rinse;repeat......... So thanks for the help!

Um... I like Halo? I don't really know what to say. I'm a student at the moment, I hope to become a criminal profiler, and I enjoy pretty much everything as long as it's good.

Halo is Halo. Call of Duty is Call of Duty. Let them stay that way. This is one of the reasons why Halo and Call of Duty are so damn popular. Bungie has stated that they don't want other game mechanics in their game so I think this one is probably a no.

If tank beats everything, and I beat everything with the Tank, Does that make me the most dominant power in the universe? I think so.

Ascetic changes? By all means, Gameplay Changes? GTFO

There's a difference, Armor advantages suck, Perks are awesome! But seriously, the only people who would hate on this idea are obsessed fanboys afraid of change. Thanks for the heads-up though.

OR we just prefer the way the game plays NOW. I mean, Perks should remain in CoD. Or not, since I never liked them that much anyway. But Halo is not like CoD. It is much more fast paced and closer to a twitch shooter. It is good the way it is. Radical changes, especially ones that make the game almost identical to other games, are completely unnecessary.

  • 09.07.2009 1:54 AM PDT

PISS OFF! go back to your -blam!- ass COD 4. why put things from a crap game into a mad ass game.

  • 09.07.2009 2:29 AM PDT

Nihilism (from the Latin nihil, nothing) is a philosophical position that argues that existence is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value.

Put simply in the words of Nietzsche as "the will to nothingness".

We already have power ups or "perks" those being the overshield and active camouflage. I like Halo because it is one of the only games out there that is balanced without any of that trait/perk bs which gives unfair advantages to some players.

Everybody is all pissed off about these perks but, what if there could be different characters and not just spartans. They could use spartans as the balanced one (like mario in all those games) and use the brutes overpowered in strength but slow in speed, etc. I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense to you, but this is just my output about these "perks"

  • 09.07.2009 3:05 AM PDT

All's fair in love and war.
except for camping.

im just gonna say that all the arguments about halo not being COD are pointless. Reach is not Halo 3. it doesnt even have halo 3 in its name, like odst does. just because it is based in the halo universe doesnt necessarily mean that it will play like the halo 3. also the multiplayer doesn't have to be anything like halo 3's. Firefight is very different from normal halo multiplayer, why can't a game that does not even have halo 3 in it's name be more different? you can oppose perks, but not on the grounds that it won't be halo anymore, because it doesn't have to be the halo we know of now.

  • 09.07.2009 1:04 PM PDT

If you want to throw it as an extra option in custom games go ahead but you dare think of touching matchmaking.

what you said, but it doesn't even have to be different species. at reach there were multiple spartans, and im sure most of us know that the MC isn't the strongest/smartest/fastest/etc. it seems probable that different spartans would have different abilities.
