Multiple endings/paths would be a great way to take halo's story to the next level!

Making various decisions could have an impact of you're squads fate and reach itself, So for one ending, Halo:reach could break off from the main Halo story and the planet saved by the UNSC, while the other would be Reach's original fate, therefore getting obliterated and glassed.

I feel that having at least 2 or more ending's would be awesome. The higher the difficulty you play, the more endings are possible.

What do you think???

multiple endings work for games that are not prequels nor have sequels...

what if you finish the game and save the planet? then HCE never happens, neither does H2 and H3.... it breaks the cannon.

I said the first ending could break off from the main halo story.

Halo: Heretic or Hero---An Elite's Story
Choose your own destiny

FanFicFactor
Forged in the Flames of Passion, go forth and represent!

It just isn't what an evolved series such as Halo would do.

Maybe not "save Reach ending", but for example,
ending 1: you sacrifice yourself for your squad
ending 2: you sacrifice your squad, just to stay alive
ending 3: you and your squad die
ending 4: etc.. etc...

1 of the best ideas

Or maybe you can play different mission depending on the actions you made in the earlier mission

this is a lot more reasonable and could totally work :p
reminds me of mass effect when you have to choose who you leave to die...

Just enjoy the damn game!
Who cares about BR vs AR

It could work. Usually belongs in RPG's, but I suppose as you play the role of a character in every game, every game is an RPG.
Good thoughts, how has no-one thought of this before?

His idea could work. Take for example KoToR and Mass effect. Each game is not a stand alone game but it has multiple endings. To preserve cannon the game developers state that only one ending is cannon and the others are just there to enhance game play. E.g In KoToR i believe they decided that the 'light' ending was cannon and the 'dark' side one was not. Also as mass effect has a sequel the cannon ending will be used if the player does not have an existing save on the original game.
