Subject: Some of you don't Get It

"I may disagree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." ~Voltaire

Every day on the forums I see people saying "Bungie, don't make Halo: Reach more Call of Duty-like" or "No, we can't have new weapons, we only need the BR!". To me this is ridiculous. Halo: Reach is a brand new game and should have brand new features and aspects.

This could be Bungie's last Halo game! Why not make it the best Halo game to date? If that means taking away something about Halo we loved to replace it with something even better, why complain?

My point is, Halo: Reach should, and will be DIFFERENT than Halo 3. If I wanted a game exactly like Halo 3, I'd just go play Halo 3. It saddens me when someone on this forum posts a fantastic idea for a gametype, but it doesn't fall into "Halo Standards" and is rejected by a lot of people.

So please, don't disregard a great idea immediately just because, to you, it won't fit into a Halo game, where it very well may be able to. And also, understand that Halo: Reach will be different than Halo 3, so don't go saying they need to be very similar.

QFT. I loved the idea someone posted about making it somewhat like battlefront, yet every post shot it down because it's not what Halo was supposed to be. Try something new tiy dips**ts.

I havent seen any threads about not needing new weapons...huh.
Well, some of those threads have good points, others are: OmG naw prks in mah haLoz
But I think your right. Might as well make the last game the best! (though I hope they make another...)

yes thank you, finally someone said it all these people that don't want halo to be like cod by adding classes (even though classes have been done way before cod) are just little fanboys who don't want to change geese stop moaning halo fan boys and live with it and stop trying to ruin it for the rest of us

  • 09.01.2009 8:48 AM PDT

Like I said earlier, some of them have good points. While others...apparently haven't heard of grammar.
Anyway, classes and perks should stay away from Halo. Let Halo be Halo, and Call of Duty be Call of Duty, in my opinion.

Just enjoy the damn game!
Who cares about BR vs AR

Halo is a none-classed-based FPS, and is the best in its class.
CoD is a classed-based FPS, and is the best in its class.
They should stick with what they know, as it seems to be working.

Personally I'm a bit nervous about some of the changes that people are suggesting, I've always thought as halo as a game where everyone starts on equal ground and the only thing that lets you beat someone else is your skill and you work to get power weapons, you don't start off with different advantages and disadvantages

This system has led halo to be one of the greatest multiplayer games to date.

But on the other hand bungie is very involved with their fanbase, I'm sure they know what people want and don't want, but I'm now confident that no matter what they do they will make halo reach awesome.

P.S. although I still don't like the idea of a class based halo

I wouldn't quite call CoD the best class-based gameplay if one was to take into account TF2. Other than that, I agree most heartily. Still, I'd like to see some changes to the basic formula that's been Halo for so very long. Judging by the squad-based nature of the thing, and by the fact that Bungie is making it, I'm sure it will be more than tolerable.

I want Natal to be part of Reach, so I do want change.

But Classes would kill half of Bungie's fanbase.

lol yeah natal would be cool for reach, my last remark wasn't at you and plus bungie would only lose the half of their fan base that nobody (or atleast no casual gamer) needs.

Made by Ensemble, under the direction of Bungie, and it was terribad. As with pretty much anything beyond Halo 2.

  • 09.01.2009 9:56 AM PDT

Halo is about everyone starting as an equil, not about perks or classes.

Casual gamers make up about 60% of the gaming market now, Bungie is a business, do you think they're going to give up that large of a profit?

Direction by Bungie? The only thing Bungie did was tell them what they could and couldn't do in terms of canon with the story. If you're not an RTS fan of course you're going to hate it. I personally love HaloWars, as does a good chuck of people.

There needs to be a balance. They have to innovate, but they have to preserve the core aspects of Halo. But they will never be able to please everybody, so they should just try to make the best game possible.
