Right, you've done it. This may turn into a wall of text, so bear with me.
A.I am not against Brutes being in MP. All I'm saying is that Bungie will have to change a lot of things to allow them to be the equal of Elites and Spartans in terms of attributes. Bungie would need to change the health of the Brutes, take off the armour, and add energy shields. That is the only way that it would be fair for Brutes to be involved in Multiplayer.
However, I seriously doubt that that will happen, as the reason you can play as Spartans and Elites in MP is because Bungie have to change hardly anything from their Single Player counterparts. They can jump the same height, have the same Melee Power (on Normal), take the same hits as you can (on Normal) and deal the same damage you can (on Normal). These four things allow botht the player models to be put into Multiplayer.
Of course you could say that they shouldn't change anything, and that they should keep the Brutes Shields as they are in Halo 3. There are at least 2 things wrong with this statement.
1. We do not know if Brutes are even going to appear in the Campaign in Reach, and so who knows what armour they will have? As zorgy said, why would Bungie put in a player model and have to design a completely new animation set and sounds just because 3 people in the forum want Brutes?
2. Keeping the Brutes shields as they are in Halo 3 would make the game unfair. Against the Brute player. If you have a 1v1 battle against a player, it is most likely that the shield would be blow off, and as we know from the campaign, a blown off shield cannot be replaced. Therefore at the end of this battle, the player has no choice but to act like a ninja for the rest of the game, or until they die. And as you will constantly be flashing sparks from your loss of shield, this ninja tactic does seem like the mission impossible.
Yes, the Brutes melee could do more damage, but if you are putting in unequal opponents into a game which is know for being fairly equal, you are basically putting in classes. And as we know from the many flame wars that are being fought right now, many, many people are against classes. Me included.
Now I know that my opinion does not matter to you, and that this next sentence will not make any sense to you, but if you have read this far, I'm sure you can survive one more statement.
I am not against Brutes being in multiplayer, I am only against the introduction of an unequal race into an equal game.
Okay, I read your wall of text, and this is what I have to say;
What side are you really on? "I am not against Brutes being in Multiplayer, all I'm saying is that Bungie will have to change a lot of things to allow them to be the equal of Elites and Spartans in terms of attributes." Then you say I am not against Brutes being in multiplayer, I am only against the introduction of an unequal race into an equal game.[quote]
This is completely pointless. You told me that you are not against the ideas of Brutes in MM, yet you contredict yourself, saying that you are against the introduction of an unequal race into an equal game? What are you rascist? The only thing you have pointed out is that it will take time and patience for Brutes to be welcomed in MM, virtues that you obviously do not have if you are complaining about it taking forever.
1. I can see why Brutes would not be in MM if they aren't in Reach. I agree with you, there. . With one exeption. Armor. Who knows what kind of armor they will have? My mind was blown when they even made the armor customization for the SPARTAN's and the Elites, so why not Brutes? I understand the animation sets, but sounds? I don't hear bullets pinging off of my armor, of hear them grind together, do you?
2. We are not talking about Single Player anymore. That means rechargable sheilds. Why? I don't know, lets say to make the game. . fair or equal to other races and PLAYERS. Same thing with melee damage or how high they jump or what size their body is without the use of classes.
I am not saying you should keep the Brute as it was in Halo 3, I'm saying you should change the Brute for Match Making purposes so it could be equal to other races or players.
Brutes would also be a big plus for Machinima. Seeing that there would be more races induced into Reach Multiplayer(IF this happens), then there could be a mix of stories and mini-series to go along with them.
Noice :)
I appretiate you being on my side and all, but seriously, I don't need a cheerleader. Just sit on the sidelines and watch me play.
No hard feelings. I just feel like you didn't, honestly, read my post that fast.
