This might seem like a rip from Perfect Dark's challenge modes, but I think it would be an excellent addition given Halo's relatively simplistic gameplay in infinite possibilities. It's simple there are increasingly difficult challenges that put you up against enemy AI in different scenarios - or instance, a 2 v 2 AI challenge where you and an AI spartan or an online team-mate face off against enemy "heroes" (Like elite ultras) with different traits to you, the enemies, and your hud/weapons. Halo's customization would make for some truly innovative and fun scenarios - an all invisible seven player rocket free for all with AI, just for fun times, or a challenging mission that pits you in a square room with one piece of cover and four stealth elites in each corner.

For user friendliness, the game modes should be able to be filtered into single player challenges and co-op challenges, just for convenience sake.

This probably sounded like a throwaway idea, but it's late, and I just thought something like this could have SO much potential with Halo's sandbox. Thanks for reading.

It isn't our shiznit anymore.

I like it. I doubt AI technology is smart enough to do this, but I would like (instead of elites) there to be an AI team (or player) that you fight that is like a normal MM game. You could even set the difficulty from easy to MLG pro (basically perfect, no flaws in combat). The highest setting would make the AI act better than even the best player (4 shot, times weapon spawns, very accurate).

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I definitely wouldn't mind.

Adding this in as an unlockable mode, with special awards you can earn by beating certain enemies sounds like it would get a lot of popularity.

I didn't really mention expanding the mode with achievements and unlockables, but rewards for completing this type of mode should be just given the rapidly scaling difficulty.

Hah, I think the AI in Halo Reach will be smart enough to interact with the environment in various ways. If Perfect Dark could do it, why not Halo?

As for the MLG Pro setting, I think it would feel like the AI is cheating in some respects. Even pro gamers would get frustrated with such enemies! If the Legendary difficulty is as tough as I hope it is, then I think a higher difficulty setting (excluding skulls) would be sort of ridiculous.

As long as I have been wanting bots in halo, Bungies currently developed AI are not smart enough to act really well in open ended environment, while ODST was a large leap towards this, its really just a small step towards what you are talking about.

Adding something such as forge in on this would make it almost impossible at their current level, since levels and the like would become so unpredictable and could not be programmed for all cases.
