I hate to speak blasphemy, but is anyone else just the tiniest bit worried that Halo 2 with all its changes and improvements will somehow lose its "Halo" feel??? I mean I'm sure they know exactly what they're doing, but I can't help but worry about it a little bit...

No, in the new Game Informer the Microsoft employees that tested Halo 2 on Xbox Live said it felt just like the original, they said it felt like an add-on, not a whole new game.

I would get concerned as well to whether a game as great as they say can even be done. But after listening to Frankie, it lifts my beleifs that Halo 2 will be greater then we will expect. Hard to imagine, but if Frankie swears upon it then I got little or no worries.

i kinda feel a little worried too. theres people that think they should have this and that in the game but when you think about, it makes it more complicated. i dont know everything bungie is doing to halo 2 but really, i hope its not a lot different than halo.

Through war we will teach your heresy.
Through battle we will teach your frailty.
Through death we will teach your fate.

But, you can't think about that kinda stuff...think happy thoughts!

I think it's great that Bungie has decided to redefine the term "sequel" through their making Halo 2 an experience unlike anything we've ever seen, but I think that many people would agree with me when I say that we would have been satisfied if they did nothing else but create new levels to further the plot while using everything from the original game. However, what they're doing with Halo 2 is obviously much better...

in that case halo 2 would NOt get the game of the year.

Forget it people, looks like doom III and half-life 2 are going to "steal" it next year.

I sincerely hope it's not the original.

Doom 3 and Half-life 2 won't even compare to Halo 2.

Well, I appreciate the compliment, grunty_king. I love a good critic that can make me laugh. No hard feelings though - if your a Halo fan, then I'd be glad to call you a friend or at least challenge you to a multiplayer match when Halo 2 is up and running on XBox LIVE.

Personally, I think Half-Life 2 can steal deez nuts.

Doom 3, now there's some competition, but its throwback multiplayer restriction is kinda ridiculous nowadays.

the only i'm worried about is that it might not have cool tricks and glitches, like getting ontop of maps and things like that

yes, unfortunately i have a foreboding of potential disaster, forgive my incompetence. You see, HALO was so moving for me because it was based around a story and setting that seemed so eerily heroic in an ominously mysterious and ancient way. It felt like i was on the ring and that i was John, spartan and saviour of the universe. The plot was chilling and thought provoking in a way that so surprised me that i had a mind orgasm. Yes, i began to shiver and shake, breathing both rapidly and heavily; but no i didn't ejaculate thank God.

My main problem is that I have the same bad thoughts about Halo 2 as well. My expectations for the game are so high that I think I will be disappointed with the ending result no matter what. I sincerely hope that Bungie has 90% of the game left a secret so far, so I will be completely AMAZED when I load it up for the first time.

PLEASE don't disappoint me Bungie.

Halo is definitely, hands down, my favourite game of all time, and as Halo 2's gameplay changes, I will like the game less and less. Please make me proud, Bungie!

we love you bungie! Don't let Microsoft push you around this holiday. release the game when you know that it will be amazing and know that it will be accepted by your harsh fans.

Screw Half-Life 2 and Doom 3... Good games? Yes. Halo killers? NO.

Halo 2 is where the money's at. It doesn't matter how big each of the other game's fan bases are, Halo's is still bigger. I know people who have bought Xboxes just for Halo and I know Halo 2 will do the same. How many people are gonna buy new PCs for Doom 3 or Half-Life 2? Not many. I'd bet large sums of money that Halo 2 will boost Xbox sales when it comes out.

seriously when it comes out you'll be able to go from nothing to a decent Xbox/halo/halo 2 setup for under 250 ... and if you get it second hand it'll be nearly 200 ... Halo2 is going to bring so many more Xbox's into the streets your grandma will want one .
