When you think that you have it all is the moment that you can lose it. Don't think ahead if you can't think for the present.
Alright, this is the first time in awhile since I had posted anything on B.Net, and the first time actually looking up anything about the new Reach game coming next fall. I have to say, most of the things you guys who actually post anything decent have really good ideas that Bungie could use to make the game even better. But I digress.
I have a few suggestions that would alter some of the aspects of the game, and just as I am entitled to my opinon, it does not mean it will be heard or welcomed, so I expect positive and negative feedback on what I mention here.
(1)There is one object that I have so far requested is pretty good to have, and hopefully you will agree and hope that Reach will finally make this delivery.
The jackal shield is more of a defensive weapon than anything else in this game, and an object of major scrutiny on whether or not if players should ever be allowed to use it.
I would have to say that it should be one of those things that should be entered for one of 3 different reasons:
1: It would elimate some forms of camping in certain areas in a multiplayer game. Like in Epitaph or Snowbound when players hide behind the energy barriers with a shotgun, causing alot of frustration when campers prosper in such a fashion.
2: It would force players to abandon human weapons for energy based ones in order to take down the target, and cause a balance usage between the two racial weapons.
3: It would give people a means to try and flank the target, giving a single target a defensive advantage against multiple enemies, unless of course the other team is smart enough to use grenades, in which case that guy is @#$ed.
I'm sure that if Bungie did allow the use of the item, they would probably have limitations for it, much like with the sword
(2) The next thing involves the Bubbleshield. A weapon that I had many expectations of in Halo 3, but found myself to be slightly disappointed. Here is a list that might make it a more helpful tool.
1.What I recommend would probably be standoffish, but make it impassable. A shield of that sort should'nt be able to tell the difference between bullets, a suit of armor, or even a hundred ton tank. The reason I say it should be impassable is that it can leave yourself in an invulnerable position for a short time,
2.Make it a grenade. When I saw the trailer, it did'nt even look like a piece of equipment, as it was thrown in the ground, and activated it before a plasma bomb could fry the MC, it looked very much like a nade and I think it should be treated as such. Lets just say the shield is impassable as I have state before, and you are in a narrow valley on Valhalla, you are just about to run out of shield power, and you have one in hand. You throw the grenade and there you have it, a small getaway. If such a use could be measured, it could be offensive too, throwing it at an opponent and entrapping them within the prison, allowing you to get your sights on him/her, and even give time for you and your buddies to gang up on the person.
3. Make it smaller and not last as long. The use of this item should'nt have to last twenty seconds before dissipating, just make it last as long as maybe five or six seconds, just enough to fulfill its intended use. If it is as small as it is now, it can also undermine the reliance of it so that people cannot be tempted to use it as often.
(3)I know that many of you have already requested this too, and here are my reasons why bots should be added to the game.
Now I know alot of people agree and disagree to the point about this game needing bots, but to be honest, some people need it, more so than others. Here is why:
1. Not everyone has XBL, its a sad truth, but some people cannot afford the money to have it every year (Though why they have a $300 360 in the first place is beyond me)
2. If you run into alot of very rude people who quit on you all the time, then a bot of the required skill could replace them so that you do not have to fight alone.
3. It could help you test out certain games in the customs department, or even be used as dummies for those who make machinma.
4. It might make games more interesting if you have a maxed out player list in your customs when you only have like one or two people to play with.
(4)Swords and Duel Wielding
1.Okay, so I know how some sword games go when halo released the game, especially for those who constantly tap B all the time until either somebody slips up and is sliced, so make the sword Duel wieldable if you decide to bring it back. That way, you can use three or five buttons to create various combinations so that they are not always the same. LT, RT and B, maybe even the RB, and LB, since none of these buttons were ever used whenever a weapon was duel wielded other than reloading.
It might be too long, but these are the things I would change
