Subject: Books that give Reach's backstory

I am a pharmaceutical scientist. I received my Masters degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2010, after working as a Pharmacist for 4 years. I currently work in King of Prussia, PA, and focus on the analytical chemistry of small molecule APIs. My clients include some of the most well known big pharma companies in the world.

What would be a good order to read the Halo books to get a good idea of the backstory that Reach will be associated with? I've been interested in reading the books and would really like to make the connections to how Reach's story may play out.

Remember,
It is easy to be male
it is another thing to be a man.

In chronological order the books are Contact harvest, The Cole protocol, Fall of Reach, The flood, First Strike and Ghosts of Onyx. The fall of reach is set in many time periods but the majority or the most important scenes is set at the time of the fall of Reach.

Signatures are for squares.

MUST HAVE BOOKS TO UNDERSTAND REACH/SPARTANS:

1.Fall of Reach
2.First Strike
3.Ghosts of Oynx.

The rest are optional really.

Most of the stuff in The Fall of Reach happens before 2552. We don't even see the end of the battle of Reach in this novel. The last few chapters occur in space over the world while an orbital battle is going on... beyond that, that novel has nothing to do with combat on Reach.

Yes you're right. I got mixed up with first strike.
